Symbols are hard to differentiate & not user-friendly. Heat (sun) looks too much like Cool (a snowflake, which really looks more like a sun). They should universally standardize these.

After you change the battery, you need to reset the clock. To do this, there are two tiny black buttons next to the battery icon. Use a thin stick (almost the size of a big needle) to press the reset button. Then use the stick to press the clock button. Adjust the time by pressing on the time buttons. On mine there is a time button with an arrow pointing to the right and another one with an arrow pointing to the left. These buttons will increase or decrease the time on the clock. When the right time is set, press the clock button again with the thin stick. The clock panel will stop flashing indicating the clock is set. It took me a long time to figure all this out. Enjoy.

We have 5 Mr. Slims in our all wood "cabin". With the three different radiative barriers in the walls roof and floor plus three more under the crawl space the highest the light bill gets is $38. We also have tankless propane water heaters and glass top propane/electric stove and dual propane/electric ovens. Most people cry when I tell them our electric bill in the hottest months.

  • @neupaneaj

First of all - if you have to make a TH-cam video for a flippin remote then you have already failed. I live in condominium - owner lady has long since tossed the manual - this Mitsubishi AC remote -has four main modes called I feel, cool, fan and dry.
What the heck I “I feel” care to explain why poetry phrase on a remote ?
And “dry” mode - will this Dehumidy while cooling or not? Because I live on hot n humid Bangkok and it does not cool in this mode then it’s no useless - but can’t tell and not waiting to do trial and error while I cook inside the condominium
Then there is another “Fan” button - how is this fan button different that the Fan mode ? Shldnt this be called “Fan speed” button?
Then there are three more buttons
Vane, Wide Vane and Long. What’s the difference between vane and wide vane it terms of cooling and airflow ??
What’s “ Long”? Care to add another word behind just so I know if “Long” means I have a “long” way to go to before I figure out this idiotic device?
This is precisely why Japanese manufacturers have lost their edge in recent years - product quality can only take you so far -
They never hire outsider who would bring better product development and user experience.
I would fire the guy who designed this remote.
It has to be simple - so simple that a low tech grandma can use.
Did I tell you that I am hardware systems design engineer!!!

Two questions, 1) When using the dehumidifier, are the heating /cooling functions also still in play? For example, is the temperature setting relevant when using dehumidifier or not. 2) is there a way to raise or lower the strength of the dehumidifying, or is it just on or off, with no range in between. Thanks!!

@@tflo6198 set your normal heat/cooling temp normally and then Turn on the dehumidifier setting. It’ll dehumidify and once the temperature in the room starts to cool down or heat up (depending on what you put it on) it’ll turn the air or heat back on to essentially reset the temp in the room then it’ll start to be a dehumidifier again once it gets back to the og temp you set it on

And still have this new totally ugly and massively expensive unit sticking out of the wall. No wonder it doesn't come with an instruction book. You're on your own.

How do you set the system so by default the system will turn back on after a power surge or power failure? We get a lot of power surges and if we are on vacation, we come home to a HOT house because the mini splits stay off after the power surge. No technician can solve this problem for us.

Hi, I know it’s been 2 years but I know how to solve this for you. All you need is a backup/surge protector battery like this one
      www.dell.com/en-us/work/shop/apc-back-ups-650va-ups-battery-backup-surge-protector-be650g1/apd/a5547002/power-cooling-data-center-infrastructure?gacd=9646510-1024-5761040-266380031-0&dgc=st&ds_rl=1282786&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIt6T3jsDC8AIVpf_jBx177QpyEAQYBSABEgIKj_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Mitsubishi Air Conditioners are Inferior quality products. It’s easy to breakdown due to fragile parts.
I bought a Mitsubishi Air Conditioner MXY-3G28VA2 on Jan 2018. Now it's Cooling Fan, Control PC Board spoilt. The seller said it's natural damage.
If a human die at his 70s, 80s years old, it’s natural ; but if he die at his 7 or 8 years old, it’s not natural, it’s abnormal.
Obviously this is due to the poor quality of Mitsubishi Air Conditioners.

I bought a house w 6 of these beasts and the 3 older ones work great. The three newer ones work when they feel like it but refuse to do any AC work. Anyone know what the icon of a split unit with a funnel pointing down from it means? I can’t get it to go away on the three that don’t work for AC.

    • @tflo6198
      @tflo6198 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Ah nice! A comment that isn’t 2 years old that I can help with!
I believe the symbol you’re referring to is the left/right direction control.
That little unit symbol and the little black icons beneath it control wether you want the air to be directed to the left, center, off-center, right, and the “funnel” with the arrow between it means you want it to keep sweeping back and forth from left to right.
Keep in mind it’s based on when you are FACING the unit. So if you are facing the unit, and you want it to blow to the left of you, change the setting on the remote so the little black lines below the “unit” symbol are to the left.
      Hope this helps!

    • @BeardsleyMark
      @BeardsleyMark 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@tflo6198 Thanks for the reply! I found out the symbol that made no sense was a Smart Sensor that changed the setting if there wasn’t anyone moving around in front of the split. I am still battling these splits. And losing badly. I think the remotes may have been mixed up but they seem to have the right serial numbers. Frustrating. I use Mitsu splits in probably half of the places I stay when I am on vacation and never have a problem. In my own home they are a disaster.

Five months later…. If anything, I now hate the new Mitsubishi remote control even more. I did something that got the remote to turn on the AC last spring. It took approximately 70 or 80 tries spread over three days, but the AC finally started working! Not sure if I did anything differently when I got it to work, maybe I just exhausted the obstinate thing?
Now I am trying to turn the heat on and my first 30 attempts yesterday and today have failed. My three old splits are working fine. My new ones are not. This time I can’t get the clock to set, it keeps blinking no matter what I do. Maybe the blinking means the clock is the issue? Mitsubishi is garbage. They had good remotes for decades and now they are trash.
On edit: A couple hours later and 20 more attempts to get it to work, the split heat kicked in and started working like it was good to go. So I am set until next spring when I get to go through this again. Argh. The capricious nature of this thing is beyond irritating.

Removing humidity is the purpose of the dry mode. If I leave my unit in that mode it will get down into the liw sixtys in my home so i make a alarm clock set for one hour to turn the unit back to normal cool. I use the dry mode in the morning when the humidity is often above 90%.
