My 8 year old croton bloomed this summer! I didn’t even know they do that. It definitely can have an attitude if it’s not 100% happy!! I’m in Texas. This summer it seemed happiest facing north/east Sun in AM’s and filled light from west sun rest of day. It’s inside now due to cold…pouting a bit. Lol

I have been very reluctant to our my plants outdoors for fear of pests and bringing them back in doors. Been having a"fun" time with spider bites for the several months. Not sure where they came from.

Thank you for the "push" to put my Crotons outside, Sis. They are so beautiful indoors and added so much to my space. But I put them on the patio where they get morning sun and they love it. They are even more beautiful.

Beautiful plants! I keep all 5 of mine in the scorching Macon, GA sun!🌞I'm about an hr south of Atlanta, Ga. I water them every 2/3 days... literally drown them, because the soil is well draining. Mine are orange, purple, pink, yellow and some are almost a very dark purple! I love them! They are so colorful!

Great advice - my croton petra is right by the front door! You're so right to wean it onto the outdoors. I start by putting mine on the screen porch, then morning sun, and then the 6+ hours of harsh afternoon sun here in the Charlotte, NC area, zone 7b. I just repotted it into a 3 gallon plastic nursery pot, but my soil mix is very airy with perlite and orchid bark. It is growing like crazy and hasn't dropped any leaves. It will be sad to come inside and my plants all "pout" around February because they're ready to go back outside. I wean them to the outside temps as well, so they can be okay if the temps drop into the low to mid 50s. Moving all my houseplants outdoors has been a game-changer for them. The croton, pitcher plants, and hoya have been the most happy about their outdoor home.

I literally just put my croton babies outside because I thought I was losing them to the spider mites!! I was really nervous at first because I’ve placed them outside before but the newer leaves flipped over!!! So I brought them back in the house right away. I’m in Houston so the sun is no joke!! It sits outside and gets full sun wach day, but it's been raining almost everyday here in FL and I'm scared that my plant is getting overwatered. My croton is wilting terribly. How can I best bring them back from wilting so that they can be happy again or is it too late? 😢

Only had a couple weeks and although the leaves are colorful and standing up, one by one the leaves are turning brown from the inner section of the leaf and just shriveling up. It's in a sunny room, on a pebble tray, with moist soil on the dry side and I've treated for pests twice. I'm ready to chop it up, any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
