Have you ever gotten to the point where you actually considered what is the better option for every single piece of wire in your machines?

Wow, awesome trick with redstone dust. I didn't expect it to be better than rails. :D

As somebody who builds things exclusively using redstone torches & dust (for challenges like structureless superflat) this video and the previous lag testing hurt my soul.
But on the other hand, you've given me an idea on how to reduce lag even in my builds, mainly bussing, by making sure every torch in said bus is spaced as far as possible and then having a 2nd always on torch powering every section :^)

@@Porkey_Minch If you play singleplayer you should retest it for your system since it might be different.

Impressive video, Adam Schadow. Looking forward to your next upload. I smashed that thumbs up button on your content. Keep up the fantastic work! I'm curious, have you considered how these performance differences might impact larger multiplayer servers with numerous Redstone contraptions running simultaneously?

Yes thats the whole point to find out how to make those contraptions in such a way that the server does not suffer too much from it.

They should just make the debug stick obtainable in survival because I'm pretty sure you can use it to separate redstone lines. Or add a tool that can do something similar for redstone only, kinda like mekanism's configurator which can be used to allow pipes and cables to be right next to each other without attaching.

@@RedVRCC That would make too much sense for mojang.

The reason redstone dust is laggy is because when it's depowered, it goes through each power level from 15 to 0 in the same game tick. When you pre-power it with comparators, it only has to go through 1 power level of difference per tick so it much easier on the server to process.

I believe it was changed in some newer version so that their signal strength decreases in steps of two, just a small thing to note
