Layne is back at his full-on magical best. Every time I watch this, I notice something new. Cesar’s elf ears moving … Cesar doing the can-can, Geoff’s reaction to Layne’s hearts with Rachel during “Romeo & Juliet” …
@Mortius: "The fact that she can have such a forward tone without going nasally is insane. That's not something I can replicate." Also @Mortius: (proceeds to perfectly replicate said tone) Me: "Riiiiight..." @Mortius, once again, showing the world that he is, in fact, more talented than he thinks he is.
Layne's percussion makes this VERY reminiscent of the old Hooked On Classics collections that I listened to until the cassettes broke. Also, I have to send a lot of love to Kaleigh and Mason. Having editors that interact with you makes this channel one of my favorites! I like sweet capicola and provolone on pumpernickel.
One of the little bits I find especially fun in this is that when Cesar is making the 'Blb-blb sound with his finger across his lips, it is the midst of "Blue Danube" I'm not sure that will connect the same for others, but when I was a kid we did that to pretend we were making 'motorboat' sounds. So Motorboat sounds during a song about a big famous river!
Terry Pratchett has a bit about Second Thoughts watching the First Thoughts, and the Third Thoughts sitting back and commenting on the first two 😁. Monte Christo! I was probably 8, and my uncle took me to lunch. He ordered that for me, and it was the craziest thing I had ever tasted. A dessert sandwich? OMG
I love a good grilled cheese… and I love that Kaleigh was adding in the song titles, especially since I’m like Mortius(the person whose grudge against the Wilhelm scream is second only to his vendetta against chipotle) and I recognize a lot of these yet don’t know ow their names. 20:33: somebody’s waaaaaatching meeeeee I’m glad that I’ve been able to watch the patreon list get longer and wider over time, it’s so nice to see a good creator grow.
I love how Kaylee is correcting all your missteps with Voiceplay LOL And I absolutely love this piece of classical mishmash from them. It's just too much fun! (Favorite sandwich? Reuben, from Arby's)
Elizabeth at the Charismatic Voice has an interview with Layne about the editing of this song. There’s something like 120 different tracks in the mix! My favorite hot sandwich is a Reuben and cold sandwich is chicken salad
Love watching you lose it on a Voiceplay reaction! 😂 FYI - when Cesar 'stole' Geoff's voice, that was actually Layne! The amount of layering in this piece was insane - Layne had something like 120 layers of the percussion parts! Favourite sandwich - hot, has to be a classic bacon sarnie (HP sauce of course!), for a cold one, either chicken salad or corned beef and beetroot (trust me, it's great!) 😉
Oh, psssst! You didn't *quite* finish watching tend interaction with Layne and Eli! FOR SHAME! Hee hee, I'm just giving you a hard time, fabulous reaction, as usual! 💙
My favorite type of sandwich is the "Dagwood". Yes, those two sections that give you "Monster Mash" vibes are very similar, in that they were both written by musicians whose last names start with B. (From entirely different eras and genres, but nevermind those details.)
I imagine its hard for anyone doing reaction videos not to be somewhat self aware of the process. Its cool you're willing to talk about it openly! Thanks as always for the acapella analysis!
Besides the examples that Kaleigh gave, "Dream On" was also a sequel to "Warriors"! That one's a little less obvious, though. ;) Also, my favorite sandwich is definitely tuna salad. A good grilled cheese is a close second, though!
Thank you folks for including the classical track names! Best 'Sandwich' is PBB Burrito - peanut butter spread on a flour tortilla, wrapped around a banana.
As soon as I saw this video, I could hardly wait to see your reaction! If it makes you feel better, the playwright Neil Simon also described going through life while simultaneously taking mental notes about things to use creatively later. Favorite sandwich: Brie and sliced apple on a baguette with dill sauce.
Turkey and provolone on white or wheat. I’m sure on rewatch you finally caught Cesar dancing the Can Can, right? Great reaction Mortius. (And no need to call emergency services on you, thankfully.)😊
my favorite sandwich that I've had would have to be one from back when I lived in the Bay Area. There was a restaurant near my office, which specialized in salads and sandwiches. One of their sandwiches was called The Rooster, which was on herb focaccia, with pesto, aioli, grilled chicken, fontina cheese, sliced apples, and mixed greens. That little pop of acidity and sweetness that the apples brought was just amazing. What I love about this video, though, is that it actually kind of takes me back to their Road Trip video from back when they were in the Sing-Off. It really is just an absolute delight, though!
Great to see you with Voiceplay again. Favorite sandwich (and I just had the first one of the season) is a BLT with homegrown lettuce and heirloom tomato, homemade mayonnaise, and homemade whole wheat and oat bread toast. YUM!
A video game streamer I watch has commented when something funny is on screen “well that’s gonna be the thumbnail on TH-cam” several times so it’s not just reactors who probably have those kinds of thoughts pop up. Also, my favorite sandwich is the egg salad sandwich I made homemade. Thanks for the video, this was a fun reaction!
Love your reaction! Best sandwich is a simple grilled cheese on my dad's homemade bread ^_^ Hopefully you watch this again in your own time, and catch a bunch of the little things in the video that you missed. (fyi Caesar does the Can-Can at one point)
I'm sick, and saved this reaction to begin my weekend (about Noon on Friday). When "Broken Mortius Noises" came on in the CC, I was taking my temperature, and I started laughing, and half the thermometer sheath went down my throat, and I clicked my teeth really hard on the thermometer too! But you know what? TOTALLY worth it! Oh, and yes, I still have a low fever that I've had for two weeks straight. Doc said it's a virus, not Covid, thankfully, but it has to run it's course. I'm going in to my GP Monday for a second opinion, as some new symptoms have come up. But I'll stop boring you with my health! Also two words to describe Cesar in this, and I may start calling him this: "Mischievous Imp!" At least I've had this video and reactions to it to make me feel emotionally better this week! Especially GREAT ones, like this one! Mortius and crew, you are in my top three of the dozens of musical reactor channels I watch! I don't suppose you'd consider doing a reaction to The Hillywood Show? 💙
I haven't check all the comments so sorry if somebody already commented upon this but the whistles you hear during the Blue Danube (by Strauss) shows who into Strauss' arrangement style Layne is, whistles, bells, horns are often used by the Strauss family in their songs.
Leaving this comment to appease the algorithm. I discovered you because my addiction to Epic couldn't be satiated by simply listening to the music 24/7 at the time when you started reacting to it. The fact that you also reacted to some of my favourite artists like Colm McGuinness also indicated that I might stick around. I took it as a sign that you started diving into Six less than two weeks after I got hooked. Now I'm watching every video for the guy on the screen even if I'm not all that interested in the topic.

My favorite kind of sandwich is a grilled cheese. Simple but tasty. I absolutely love Rachel Potter. Her voice compliments Voice Play so well. They knocked this one out of the park! Great reaction again Mortius
Really enjoyed your reaction to this one, it's such an amazing production. Beautifully done, fun and hilarious! Thanks for posting the name of each song as it played, too!
Favourite sandwich depends on my mood. I cycle between grilled cheese, Italian, egg salad, honey peanut butter, ham and gouda, and roast beef and cheddar.

(and I also appreciate your transparency about the craft that goes into making TH-cam videos) Oh, and also: happy disability pride month (Pride month, the second)
I just love this lovely mix tape of classic pieces. Gorgeous sounds, so easy to digest, doesnt require too much previous education, and just delicious. A great recepie for voiceplay. Speaking of which, I just had such a good club sandwivh last week in a hotel... best crunchy toast, soft chicken breast, tasty bacon, tomatoes, a dash of mayonaise, and freshly fried fries... mmmmm.
Also i love the way that Layne had the switches they are so smooth, and his interesting uses of "percussion" were so fun! They told this story so well with the music and the acting. Best sandwich: Reuben with dill pickle strip, tomatoes, garlic, onion, strip of mustard and caramelized Bella mushrooms! I enjoyed the choice to have Rachel say the only word, "done" followed by "hmmnnpf" turn and sauntering exit!
Favorite sandwich configuration: LOTS of veggies, some pickles, decent meat, at least one cheese, and a condiment so it's not dry. I love most breads, but an onion bagel always hits the spot.
Hmmmm sandwich??? Probably a Reuban...IF it's made correctly. I'm so glad that you're doing this I've been waiting for it! Also the characters are called Grundels.
