Do you ever train Turkish get ups? What about the windmill portion? This is a very helpful drill in my experience for those with shoulder troubles lifting overhead - today you’ll learn why! . Shout out hissy.0/TT for the opening stitched video, @muscleandmotion for the anatomy graphics & @mirabai_chanu for being my model athlete.
Hi man, is it really any bad to lift a weight in bad posutre or bad way if you just build up to it, like if you are beginner, I'm like doing this at the moment, 2 months into training, got satisfying gains, but more to go.
It's definitely for show with using the larger circumference plates, but the number 10 is on the inside of the plate. You can see it as it's placed into his hand. There's no pretending. Having 8 10lb. plates equalling 80lbs. or 8 10kg. plates equalling 36kg is still a very impressive Turkish Get-Up nonetheless!💪🏽
Dude in the opening is strong, really strong. This kid gets a lot of hate mostly by individuals who are casually in the gym every other month but think they know something. Glad you featured him. Sad that even here, there are so many bs "fake weights" accusations. Some of y'all just need to better yourselves.
RIP those who think those are real weights Edit: for those saying they’re 10kg plates you’re wrong, look at how much he’s moving and able to correct himself easily. If there was any substantial weight it wouldn’t be moving as much as it is, it would have just tipped over if it was heavy and moving like that.
I recently started lifting again after recovering from my second shoulder surgery. Your videos are so helpful. Hopefully I can get back to hitting PRs soon.

@@ezet he has just mistyped probably. Basically the guy is lifting 8 plates each of which is 10LB (4.5KG). Hence total weight would be around 36 KG which roughly equals to 80LB. If you consider handle, then probably 38 KG (84LB).
@ezet you're doing the conversion of pounds to kg incorrectly. All I did was Google the conversion. 1lb = 0.455kg. Eight 10lb. plates = 80lbs. OR eight 10kg plates = 36.2874kg. For kg, I rounded down for the decimals. There ya go.👍🏽

The guy name is hissy or something, I think he has almost 2 million followers on YT. His lifts and grip are very impressive, he’s definitely legit. No one said they are 45Ibs plates, if you pause you’ll see they are each 10Ib. It’s still almost 100Ibs from the ground with one arm from a guy with very little body weight, impressive in my book.
He wouldn't do it like this if he hadn't practiced this lift for months, and more likely, years. You could equate that same logic with any dangerous/insane stunt or move anyone did. If YOU did this right now, YOU would be dead, as would I. This guy's gonna be just fine because he prepared and trained for lifting like this.
I love get ups too. I wouldn't be doing these with the bell upside down. Not unless you want permanent CTE. One slip in your form and pow. Unstable tools is a much more effective challenge.
Hey there, I have a couple issues similar to ones you cover in your videos, however I'm not sure where to go to find someone who might be equipped with similar knowledge and could inform me as to what exercises might help. Would a physical therapist be correct? How would you recommend finding the right professional? I apologize if you've done a video on this already
Never try to lift crazy heavy weight for shoulder excersise, especially just to try to show off. Shoulder injuries are life changing and not in a good way.
What happened to Mirabai, she held the world record for clean and jerk and got silver in the Olympics, why cant she get close to those numbers anymore?
All these people doing heavy extreme weights you have to be in it for the long run. When I was younger, I used to ego left now my shoulders are trash and I looked beautiful and I was strong and I looked like I was like Superman I'm 63 years old don't make the same mistake.
I’m guessing the weight is 80kg+handle so around 85kg or 187lbs. Very impressive but possible for an experienced power lifter. Some saying this is fake. Anyone who didn’t catch it, in the video the plate says 10. Therefore, They’re not the standard 45lb/20kg plates, much less than 360lbs (people calling it fake prolly came to this incorrect conclusion). So next question is lb or kg, 80lbs or 80kg. This dudes an experienced power lifter and he struggled, so I’m concluding it’s metric, 85kg total. Knowing how hard lifts similar to this are, a 185lb Turkish get up is still stupidly impressive display of strength.
I can’t believe any lift this guy does anymore. After he claimed to zercher hold 500 kgs. No body in the world can do that. Very few people can even deadlif that
This is one of those exercises that I’m sure works very well for its purpose, but looks absolutely ridiculous all the same. Much better shoulder workouts out there but to each his own

Damn. How much weight was that?
do you really train mirabai? love from India❤
Felt that in my dislocated shoulder 😢
Yeah, start off with like 6 kg and walk around overhead with it instead of doing getups. It's pretty rough at first.
That unsteady lift Mirabai was doing was one of the most impressive lifts I've ever seen😮
Cool so we pretending those are 45lb plates now? Those are definitely 10 at most lol
pretty sure that only 80 lbs total it says 10 on it

in other wideo he is doing this with his friend

I don't know about these weights but that guy is very strong, I have seen a lot of impressive lifts from him
They’re 10kg/22lb plates not 20kg/45lb. It’s half the weight u assumed

Awakens your stability muscles. TGU is a great movement, warm up as well with light kb before compound movements.
Love how easily they lift the weight in the first clip

When you give your starting character zero intelligence points so you can max out the shoulder muscle points
That's the most dangerous challenge he has come up with so far.
Quite a few experts say the Turkish get up is an overly complex movement that isn’t worth the potential for injury.
Thanks for sharing 🙏🏿
Interesting! Should add to my work out
This is really cool, and I want to learn it but I wonder if I will be able to use this in normal life.

Not just shoulder his core strength is impressive too.

If those plates were real 45 lbs just those 8 alone would weigh 360 lbs. No one in the world is lifting 360 lbs with 1 arm over head.

Try doing it when you're 63. A recipe for injury at my age. No probs when I was 43 though 😂
This may well be an accident waiting to happen. It doesn’t take much for this to go terribly wrong when it’s too heavy
