Brings back very fond memories of John Hudson. Feel very old when seeing Greg Fishel here. If I remember correctly, WRAL used video from the CBS This Morning visit (i.e. Harry/Kathleen walk in gardens and "Carolina in the Morning" reference) to heavily promote their Morning News and the National Telecast in tandem. Any chance that you'll have any more clips of WRAL (i.e. "24 Hour News Source" and early "North Carolina's News Leader" years?) And WTVD, WPTF? Thanks for putting this clip up!
I have roughly 45 hours of WRAL News dating back to the late 80s through the late 90s. I am planning to upload much more in the coming weeks and months. I just purchased the Dazzle video creator. It all comes down to how much time I have on my hands to do this stuff. Thanks for your comments!
This is great! Love seeing Mark. Used to watch this every morning on the way to work. Dish Network used WRAL as its East Coast CBS station in the mid-late 90's when it offered distant newtorks (Dish Nets East/West).
"Obviously, WRAL was a prime beneficiary of the lavish attention." Good thing. I'm sure WRAL was none too happy letting go of ABC for last place (at the time) CBS.
How fitting they play James Taylor at the beginning.

John Hudson was in Tulsa for a lot of years before his gig in Raleigh. Great clip.

Harry Smith is back on CBS, doing The Early Show.
