I like using a sonoff sv, connects straight to the 24v power of the door, and a few pins left over for distance sensor or temp sensor :) but this is a nice out of the box solution. would have been slightly better with tasmota, incase the network is down.
This device is running on ESP Home so it can be controlled via an android phone running the home assistant app! Another option is to connect to the ESP home device via a browser on any device on your local network.
really? by default it has a web server that isn't protected, I am having trouble finding a document on how to update the yaml file and disable that web server@@simonsayshomeassistant
Thanks Simon. That’s so cheap. I think I paid twice that for the Shelley one plus the Reid switches etc and I thought that was cheap.
Yes, i know Athom devices are really cheap and work well!

Yes, it would be nice to connect to the 24V. I do love Tasmota too!
Any tips on how to make it visible in homekit, once it's in homeassistant and working?
Sure thing just setup the connection like this : th-cam.com/video/K8L6FHMp9KA/w-d-xo.html
Thank. I connected the red/black wires to MyQ lift master left areas but beside up/down lights the garage does not open.
Have you tried closing the connection between the terminals on your door opener to see what happens?
So.. App/Support for this is iPhone/HomeKit/Siri only? No android/google app and support?

Just curious, is there an app for that? When you get to your garage door....how do you open it?
No there is not an app I would use a nfc tag to trigger a shortcut on your phone e to do this
Is there a way to password protect or otherwise secure this device? IE: so that it can't be operated by just anyone with access to the wifi?
Being an ESPHome device it is secure (encrypted) and will not just be available to anyone that has access to your wifi
