Great video, awesome to see some expansions on Preadtor lore :) But the flaws in the subtitles makes this kinda hillarious, I mean for the ancestors of the predators (by subtitles known as HISHE(they must have loved movies and animation)) to be conquered not only by the "ax-men G" but by the dreaded "Amanda" as well. I like how this explains the technology as a prize of war rather than outright theft like some people have theorized. Keeps the code of honor intact. Plus it says they improved on the base technology, so they're smart as well.
Maybe is not the greatest game of all time but Hunting Grounds really makes an effort creating a new history and respecting the canon from the first movies. I appreciate the fact that the writers bring back the predator as it always should be. A dangerous and powerful threat to the human kind. Silent killers and brutal warriors. Not the funny antiheroes they give us in the last movies. We deserve a new movie with this lore. Btw great video as always!!

I really liked this lore made by neca(and accepted by Illfonic), it gives more depth to the Predator lore without throwing the current one through the window. -Hish is the primitive ancestors of the Predators, Yautjas is how they describe the ones followed by Alpha, being taller, stronger and smarter; -The original design is now part of their lore; -Alpha didn't just "brute force'ed" his way into victory, instead he ploted against his slavers by uniting tribes and forming alliances with Amengi rivals, proving they are cunning, smart and even political; -The battle and hunting is part of the Yautja history; -Yautjas didn't stole tech, but they took from the Amengi and made improvements by them, showing that they became just as smart as Amengi; -The balance between hunt and technology
Aslong as they make him big enough. Scarface is as big as a Super Predator, he might even be one. He is definitly taller then the OG pred from the first film.
New Way Devil Scarface isn’t a super predator but he is larger like the Celtic predator from avp and wolf is as tall as the berserker predator as well just slimmer

So pretty much the predator stole their tech from their horrible rulers, and over time learn how to implement it with their own lifestyle. That pretty badass if you ask me.
What if the Amengi and Engineers met at some point, either as enemies or mutual allies! At some point, maybe the Amengi disliked the Engineers’ need to create life while the Amengi’s were harbingers of destructions! Maybe their feud lead to the Amengi breeding the Yautja to combat with the Engineers’ bio weapons. This could give a deeper dive into the explanation as to why the Yautja and Xenomorpbs had been enemies for eons, cause their creators were at odds!
I am trying to remember if I read that book. I went through quite a few of them. I like the explanations of the history of the predator species and society beyond “hunting is a way of life”. I mean that’s cool, but it doesn’t explain how they discovered fastest than light travel or cloaking technology.

That's a valiant attempt of theirs to reconcile "Forever Midnight" with all the other Predator stuff, but I still get the feeling that Shirley just didn't do any research before writing the book. I treat it like "The Star Wars Holiday Special" of Predator. 😉 Having said that, I'm very much looking forward to the Alpha Predator figure coming out!
I wouldn't mind the Alpha Pred Lore as part of the Universe, but that Novel went really far off from what we know now. Who knows. Perhaps we can take the novel as "an early version of the Hish, then they changed to how they are now".

These events happened thousands of years ago, after all, and just as humans evolved in appearance and survival specializations in their environments over time (we look NOTHING like our Homo Habilis ancestors), then so did the Hish evolved into the Yautja. There could be offshoot sub species of true Hish bloodlines still around, especially if they remain genetically insular.

Yeah. The hish might as well be a different race. They could switch genders, males were larger and both genders weren't too smar. They ran namely off of instinct, slot of which was the kill gland. They were also reptilian. Yautja are very intelligent, reptile like mammals with different genders and sexual dimorphism, with females being considered larger and stronger. In other words! One thing you did miss. The Amengi are also from Forever Midnight, as slaves for the Hish. So Neca did a cool thing by taking quite a bit from a dud of a book and make it into something cool.
Makes for good lore better then the other stuff where predators have political division and such human societal flaws. Also the alpha story would be a cool movie plot or game storyline.

I think Kaail should have fashioned his armor from a special Amengi that he personally killed. Like the emperor of their race, or general of their armies, or the fiercest warrior that they had on the battlefield, or maybe Kaail's personal slave owner.
@Chomag Actually AVP 2004 is canon again after The Predator was released, the reason being that the film included the spear that the female protagonist carried made from the Xenomorph tale that Scar predator made for her.
Hear me out... “Predator: UPRISING” a single player, story driven predator game that has a similar play style to the old fps Riddick games about this story.
The hish were slaves that got experimented by their colonists while the Yautja are the descendants of them bigger, stronger and a taste for the hunt (what probably is because of the experiments their ancestors experienced so they could get used for gladiator fights).
If people are so desperate to merge universes...then sure - The yautja could also be children of the Engineers. The fact alone doesnt hurt, the delivery could be hard though - Its all in how any potential movie would deliver the story that matters.
I find it funny how these writers want to become famous, by changing established lore, by making the Yautja be like any other invading alien species. Ultimately, making the writer's work, generic and uninspiring.

The canonization is very hard to connect. But I love the expanded universe and crossovers.

Its a totally awesome figure! And well worth the price. I have it and it has become my favorite out of all of my Predator figures.

The fact alone doesnt hurt, the delivery could be hard though - Its all in how any potential movie would deliver the story that matters.
I think people had enough with the Engineers becoming the creators of Aliens and Humans. No need to add the Yautja to the list.

I find it funny how these writers want to become famous, by changing established lore, by making the Yautja be like any other invading alien species.
Ultimately, making the writer's work, generic and uninspiring.
