This is so true, it's annoying how people say love and peace, yet they judge you on your clothes, or appearance. I find it's best to just ignore them and stay your positive self and you'll find the right people.
Like anything else, what started out as a positive thing decades ago was infiltrated by really bad people and the saying rings true, "it only takes one bad apple to spoil the bag" .I spent a lot of time around "hippies" and there is no shortage of self righteousness that's for sure. Some of the people at rainbow have very good intentions, but the road to hell is paved with good intentions as they say and unfortunately in our quest for "peace and love" we often create the exact opposite.

I've attended Colorado, Oregon and Tennessee and I can't say I've experienced this and I'm actually jus a house hippie who travels when i can.. everyone I met were cool Kats. Rainbow is amazing.

I attended gatherings since 98 and its got worse and worse. This kid is guilty of the same things he is speaking against. He just wants to be the cool guy and seen as "real" and accepted into the cool kids camp. He doesnt say that this is pathetic just that he wants to join their real kids club. I was always accepted but I never cared to be, Im not a joiner. The more I saw insecurity manifesting through egos the less I went. The elders are really bad when it comes to this. Gatherings have been a jk for years anyway and the original spirit and intention gone. The internet takes a lot of the blame. Back in the day I strongly advocated to keep it word of mouth and now we have a lot of people there for the wrong reasons. Just to party and take a weekend safari oogling at the freaks and swelling the masses of drainbows.

The Nationals have changed drastically. I haven't been to a nationals in over 10 years due to the aggressive attitude's by alot. Its not the rainbow family, it is more like society has started rejecting our own.
I got caught up with these groups of people years ago and I always thought it was a really stupid subculture. I ended up traveling on my own most of my teens and twenties and you can be the kind of person that lone Wolf's it on the road all over the country and these people will still go out of their way to try and make you feel as if you're just not hardcore enough. Mostly a bunch of losers and posers and deadbeats living up off of somebody else that they're manipulating. The worst of them I ever met was a small group that referred to themselves as wrecking Crew even though they were entirely too young to have ever met Jerry Garcia. I rarely see any of these kind of people anymore as I travel. The last time I saw one was probably about 5 years ago and before that it had been a few years since I've seen any element of it. I'd be surprised if it hadn't died off already.
1.By "clean", what do you mean? Not doing LSD, cannabis, alcohol, etc...or physically relatively free of dirt, sweat, etc...? It is possible to bathe/wash at Gatherings. "Being dirty" is not a requirement. 2. Not everyone at Rainbow is a road dog. People in intentional and unintentional communities go. At least 35 years ago, the majority were not "always on the road". 3. I always hated that expression "Weekend warrior". So what? Someone has to have a job to supply money for the "magic hat". All those bags of brown rice, pots and pans to cook it in, etc... don't grow on trees. 4. When I was going (over 35 years ago) the message was one of inclusion, or at least... that's what the p.r. purported. At its best, it was inclusive. At its worst, a lot of people are in denial. Caveat emptor. 5. There is no "initiation". You go, you take part. Volunteer. Help out at a kitchen. Chop wood. Carry water. Clean up after bliss ninnies. Dig a shitter. Ask people at the MASH/CALM tent if they need help. Gatherings are generally carried on the back of too few volunteers. 6. A lot of people are paranoid. People have LSD, cannabis, magic mushrooms, etc... and are afraid of being arrested. A few are running from the law. Some have an exaggerated sense of their own importance.

The kingdom of heaven has come near to you. Aggression, not happy, and paranoid of police or undercover people, agreed, I've expereinced these bad qualities of many people at two different gatherings. The last one I went to, was a horrible experience, for many days. I was enlightening and happened to see how much selfishness and anger management issues were among many hearts there, and it was awful. It's a beautiful trip to enlighten into a new spiritual family of love and freedom and fun; and it's quite another trip to enlighten towards that new family betraying you, and mistresting you, and to just experience all of their collective coldness and awful hearts. It makes their love feel very superficial, and fake, and selflessly tsinted. It reminds me of the great feeling of being baptized into a new church, and then later that church, rejects you, and either drags or pulls you out. Church, and gatherings, can be important stepping stones for spiritual enlightenment, but to remain on those stepping stones, is not good, and many seem to do that, and there's no growth in remaining stagnant, and it seems like many at churches and gatherings have remained stagnant and neglected to step up, due to fear, and self or ego preservstion. So many hippies have huge egos, and I'd say a big ego is in the complete opposite direction of mature spiritual growth. There's spiritual growth of the world, and there's spiritual growth of heaven. The man in this video touched on something I was looking for, and I'm glad he did. Be on guard against hypocrits, false teachers, for they carry resentment, rebelliousness, overprotectiveness and no lasting forgiveness. Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. If the word of God still makes you cringe, then you are not properly aligned with it. Do not confuse what most preachers preach of to be the word of God. It's not. @@misticsun I went to rainbow this year and the help and compassion I received was unspeakable.. pouring rain and mud fest in NH. Random amazing people helped me find a campsite at night.. A few days in my dog got injured and this amazing group helped me so much without questioning. They brought by lil girl down the mountain. Everyone came together And it was one of the Most amazing expirences of my life. ♡ ❤️ I'm so thankful to the rainbow family. 🙏 thank you too

The kingdom of heaven has come near to you. Aggression, not happy, and paranoid of police or undercover people, agreed, I've expereinced these bad qualities of many people at two different gatherings. The last one I went to, was a horrible experience, for many days. I was enlightening and happened to see how much selfishness and anger management issues were among many hearts there, and it was awful. It's a beautiful trip to enlighten into a new spiritual family of love and freedom and fun; and it's quite another trip to enlighten towards that new family betraying you, and mistresting you, and to just experience all of their collective coldness and awful hearts. It makes their love feel very superficial, and fake, and selflessly tsinted. It reminds me of the great feeling of being baptized into a new church, and then later that church, rejects you, and either drags or pulls you out. Church, and gatherings, can be important stepping stones for spiritual enlightenment, but to remain on those stepping stones, is not good, and many seem to do that, and there's no growth in remaining stagnant, and it seems like many at churches and gatherings have remained stagnant and neglected to step up, due to fear, and self or ego preservstion. So many hippies have huge egos, and I'd say a big ego is in the complete opposite direction of mature spiritual growth. There's spiritual growth of the world, and there's spiritual growth of heaven. The man in this video touched on something I was looking for, and I'm glad he did. Be on guard against hypocrits, false teachers, for they carry resentment, rebelliousness, overprotectiveness and no lasting forgiveness. Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. If the word of God still makes you cringe, then you are not properly aligned with it. Do not confuse what most preachers preach of to be the word of God. It's not. Don't reject knowing who Jesus Christ really is, just because you've been upset by hearing from all of the many false prophets and hypocrits speak on it. Reject those who sre of rejecting. You should hesr it plainly in their voice. You should see it in their body language. If you feel it, stand up and walk awaybfrom it. If you practice all the teachings in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, then you'll know who God is, and you'll know what He sounds like, and through that, you'll also know who He is not, and what He doesn't sound like, which is what almost all pastors, and what way too many hippies are like. I was able to attend the Rainbow-Family Gathering in E. Oregon, way up in the mountains, on sacred ground. I was ill for many yrs. and wasn't able to attend a Gathering; since Co,. in 04. I have been to gatherings, all around the world. The best one was @ the Kumba Mela in India, which is the original Rainbow Gathering. And really, the whole concept behind the Rainbow Family, can be found at the Kumba-Mela. But Kuba Mela is like on steroids, the all time, of all time: Gathering of, Rainbow gathering's! The R.B. Gathering there, kind of swallowed-up. A Pilgrimage, none-the-lees for me: and half the journey "trip" is getting there. And sure; it is always a field day for the heat (cops).
