Mr. Laws, I am a big fan of yours and I hope my saying so gives you a little encouragement to continue what I consider to be a valuable commodity in our day. So few things in modern life give me a sense of peace and some hope for the future, but you do that very thing. Looking to the past provides hope for the future and I greatly appreciate your work. Until the Prince of Peace puts all that oppose Him beneath His feet, I pray for His kingdom come and His will be done in your life and all those who watch and wait. Godspeed!
Thank you, Donnie, for sharing another great history lesson of our past. My husband and I are always learning and enjoying the beauty of each site . Like you said everything has a story, just makes you want to know more about each story and it's people. Thank you for honoring our past and for helping us to remember all the times gone by . God bless, stay safe and blessed.
Thank you, so much, Mr. Donnie, for recording and preserving this history for folks to come. This is beyond valuable work and I thank you so much for sharing this with us! Much love from SC, Jane❤🙏
Good morning , love hearing the history of those mountains, thank you so much for sharing this. Kids nowadays need to learn what isn't in history books.
I absolutely love the history of Appalachia - and history in general- but you really knocked it out of the park with this one! Many thanks, Mr. Donnie. Happy exploring.
Donnie, you are a man after my own heart. Love the way you say chimlee. I pronounce it that way but don't hear it much anymore. Your video was bitter sweet. Preservation has its benefits but feel a tinge of sadness that indigenous pioneers were evicted off this land by the government. Glad you document in video the old cemeteries.
God bless you my friend. Thanks so much for sharing. I'm just a old country boy raise in these mountains. Your very welcome. Our people and their times needs to be remembered and not forgotten.
I feel very sad too that people were evicted off this land by the government. This happened all over the USA during the Great Depression years. I grew up in rural Northern Wisconsin......very much of ancient buildings were destroyed. They did build some very nice shelters along the highways....with native rocks....., but the old stuff was important to save, but they didn't do that.
Thank you for this highly informative video. I learned new things about “upping stones”, dual entry doors for genders in churches, and a beautiful sawtooth oak! My great uncle was a cooper by trade and made barrels for a local salt works during the civil war; salt was needed to preserve meat/food supplies for the troops. We found lots of barrel hoops on the property. Fascinating video, thank you; love the whispers of history my friend. 🦃🍁
Donnie, I pray this finds you well and truly blessed. Thank you for blessing us with your historical exploration! So grateful my kin and brother vets are remembered. God bless you and yours!
Beautiful video , you filmed some amazing footage to keep the old days remembered. ( not forgotten ) Thank you 🙏 ❤ I really enjoyed and appreciate seeing it .

Donnie, this is what my husband and I appreciate about your videos. The fact that you try and back up the old pictures with the new landscapes helps to retain this history. It’s very interesting to watch. Thank you for being a good historian of your area., it’s much appreciated!
Mr Donnie I want to thank you for another beautiful wonderful video! The history of these places are amazing and beautiful! Sad that these places are being forgotten.
An absolutely fascinating tour, Mr Donnie. I loved exploring this wilderness area, especially the old cemeteries. Thank you so much for taking us on this adventure.
I very much love these videos! I enjoy all your subjects a lot, but the history ones are my favorite, Your work has earned you a significant place among the keepers of our history for future generations. Thank you and as always, God bless!

I love these videos Donny. Half my ancestors Scots and ScotsIrish emegrated to America most its believed settling in Appalachia. This is an insight into where and how they lived and survived, thank you from the 🇬🇧
I do indeed love the history that you document, Donnie! I've always been amazed at the amount of stone buildings in that area. I guess there was a family of stone masons there from Scotland or Wales as the work looks a lot like some of the structures I've seen in pictures of those countries. My heart broke to see the logging operation but I was glad that they are watching out for the history at the sites. Logging probably keeps the area in enough money to keep it as preserved as possible and may have helped to clean up the cemetery as well. It takes at least thirty years to regrow the trees though. They will provide a home for nature again! Thank you for the beautiful walk into some very rugged territory to see these cool things that will one day be lost to time. May they never be forgotten. ❤ Y'all please take care now! May God bless you and yours. 😊
I always love your history videos. Social history from other countries fascinates me. It is so sad to see these little cemeteries and I wonder if anyone still visits them. Take care Donnie.
Thank you so much for your beautiful video. I love the scenery and the history you share with us. Your accent is a real delight to listen to! I live in a town called Huddersfield in West Yorkshire, England. You show me places I can never see without your channel. Long may you continue to let us share Appalachia with you ❤
Donnie, Thank you for taking the time to find, research and document the past from this area. Your videos are educational and very interesting. Please keep up the great work.
Thank you, Donnie, for this wonderful history lesson. Your channel takes me to places that I might otherwise never see. It's great to learn just a little bit of how the early Americans lived in the Mountain areas.
Thanks for the trip Donnie. I'll walk through history with you anytime you want to go. Keep telling people in my state. You need to discover what's here. God bless my friend.
Thank you Donnie for this history walk through the woods of time. I cried through most of the film as it touched my soul. I’m far away from this great land and need to get back home. God willing I’ll get there in His time. Please Lord…
