Today I thought "man, I wonder what Joey's been up to", and I'm so glad I checked in. I know all artists change and grow, but this classic style is so pure and it only sounds better in 2022. Warm, deep, thought-provoking, calming, mature, it's just everything.
How is he never in the talks about the greatest rappers of our time. How can someone be so smooth, precise, and real to the game by being the definition of hip-hop? Lyrical and political without forcing it but by telling his story simple as that. Praise the hip-hop lord joey badass.

i think his albums jus haven’t been too amazing compared to cole, drake and kendrick. on top of the fact that his best songs are usually him goin back to his 1999 style. whereas cole drake and dot all diversify their sound a lot more. joey badass is still fye tho

I met homie after his set at Rock The Bells 2012/2013, at Mountain View California. He only had a half hour set, during the day, but rocked it. I knew every word and homie came by after his set and dapped me up and I was able to snap a classic photo. Long before he had the dreadlocks. When he had the fro. Talk about different times in the world.
