I have 2900 miles on my pint now over 2 years. changed my tire first time at 2750. Can attest to its durability and toughness, is my main transport to the gym and any short outing. I much prefer my treaded tire, as I no longer worry going on slick trails or on street w/mud on it. Absolute blast. good review
So my question before I buy one, did you change your tire because it needed to be changed? Or was you just doing it just because. And also does the tires or the tread on the tire, does it deteriorate quickly or can you just keep one tire the entire time you have a one wheel. Not including running over nails or glass, I’m talking like riding pretty clear oaths without much debris
I've had my Pint for about 1 month now. So very much love it. Think I've put on nearly 100 miles now. It is my mode of transportation to the gym every morning. So fun. I'll also mention that I've never skateboarded, never snowboarded, and never tried an electric scooter. Thanks for the review.
11:43 I thought it was just me, I recently brought a gt and I have this problem, I get off and walk across the streets to avoid looking like a idiot, teeter-tottering, and the board doesn't start up for me, like you said, once you're on and going..theirs no problem
By far the best review and explanation of the OneWheel Pint to date. I have had mine for just over a month with 200+ miles, I agree with everything that you said and boy oh boy would it be amazing to have removable batteries! The front light and weight are prime issues, but it is still amazing. Great video!
You’re able to replace the battery, but it does void the warranty. I upgraded to the Quart battery a few months ago, and it was the best decision I’ve made. I get around 15-17 miles on a charge.
Great review 100% bang on. Would have liked to see the talky part inserted with some example video shots but what u said was so on the nail kept me watching.
It's a valid concern. The one counter to that though is that they're truly well built machines. Very few failures in the wild. Especially with the newer versions.
So glad to see right to repair support mentioned at the end-ish of the video, and a wonderful 1 year review that does get into the negatives of Future Motion as a company yet keeps it brief and easy to digest. I ride a pint and love it as well although have not had it vary long yet, however I would agree with you summery completely. I am of the belief though that the price in not that extreme especially for the pint due to like you said it being designed and assembled in the USA, but I do think that now that the pint has been out for a while that asking twice as much for the XR is a bit much. Regardless, great video review!
The chi battery replacement rocks! I swapped out the original battery and am now getting 18 to 20 miles per charge. Watch a few videos in TH-cam. It's a replacement, not an add on.
Year and a half and only 400 miles but you ride it daily?? Crazy. I'm at 2400+ miles and have had it since May 15, 2021... You say everything I say to people tho when they ask me about my pint 💪
I love my pint, haven’t had it long but I find it too squirrely to ride at top speed and I don’t think it can be a daily commuter for that reason which is what I hoped it would be. Agree with everything else you said. Informative and useful content. Thank you.
I think I put 400 miles in 4 months. My somewhat ugly contribution is, I got bored with it pretty fast. I'm 62 and once I learned how to ride really well, the next step was to start jumping things and dropping off curbs, and my knees aren't going to do that and like it. My back and left knee started hurting a lot too, being twisted that way was not good. I got an electric unicycle and I hardly ever ride the Pint anymore. You can do a lot more with them. I'm not bad mouthing the Onewheel, it was fun and a stepping stone to the unicycle, but it's pretty much an expensive toy, where the uni is legitimate transportation.
Solid review, honest and straightforward. Love that you mentioned right to repair as an issue because I know it definitely wasn't on my radar when I got my board. If I could give one suggestion maybe try and look up exact numbers in advance like the price and the top speed. For example the top speed of the Pint is actually stated to be 16 mph, and I think the actual price is $950 without accessories and stuff. Having those exact numbers right off the top of your head would add a little bit to the credibility. Not really an issue though because you showed the exact price up on screen right afterward. Anyway good video keep it up dude.
Agree with everything you said, nice analysis! Price is a bit high but it's marketed as a unique and fun product for middle-class mid-thirties, so... Also come and see the European prices... 2200€ for the XR... Comparable to a pretty decent ebike.
Right to repair has to be a national fix. Tesla, apple, etc need to warranty boards regardless of modification unrelated to the non-interacting part issue. Magnuson-Moss Warrsnty act of 1975 is case law effectively.
300 miles on my pint in a month and a half of city riding in DC. My XR is arriving tomorrow 🤙🏽 400 miles is pretty low for a full year 🧐 I’m basically almost there in less than 2 months.
I’m debating weather or not I should get a pint or or not just wondering do you find after 400 miles does the battery still go about the same range as when you got it new?
yeah sometimes the range fluctuates though, I would get the pint x or the gt! ( if you need range) (if your just cruising around the park or wtv the pint is great!)
Obviously it range wise the pint with a quart battery is going to be very similar to an xr. I think the big difference is still in the frame and tire. The pint is just far more nimble and maneuverable in my opinion and more fun to carve at least for me. That's not too really say much negative about the XR though. The XR is an awesome machine just a bit bigger with a wider flatter tire. That's why a lot of people swap the tire to the narrower pint size tire on their xrs. Overall though they're both quite similar besides the range.
Good work on the review. I concur with the right to repair stuff.... thats freeking stupid .... especially as I live in the UK.... do they expect me to ship the whole thing back to California for any tiny problem? Unfortunately for that reason alone, I'm out. 🛑 I don't care how good they think their board is.
Pint has one notorious issue, rattling off power button nut.. Which is from steel so if you rattle it off and it flies arround the controller you are risking shorting shit out and killing your controller.
Haha she actually can't get enough! The other one hates it but he's a little heavy so vet said he needs to do the same! One more great use for the onewheel 🤣
Considering I've heard of people having issues with ghosting when changing their own trip tape, I can see why FM doesn't allow owner repairs. They need to allow authorized repair centers to perform the work at least though.
The one wheel sucks. Complete waste of money. Way too slow, horrible range and too easy to injure yourself. Do yourself a favor and get a Segway G2 scooter. It goes 22 mph, has a range of 43 miles, full hydraulic shocks and is less expensive

I got a one wheel pint brand new and it only had a 3 mile range. Is this normal?
No. What's your weight and terrain though?

Swappable batteries would be such a game changer. I could throw a few batteries in my bag and know I'm good for a whole day of riding
Killer breakdown of what the One Wheel is all about! Legit honest review. Nice man
Thanks!

I am retiring from the Air Force and this is my retirement present from my wife. I absolutely CANNOT wait to shred.
How do you like it?!
Having a swappable battery would have got me into the One Wheel WAAAY sooner.

Awesome OneWheel Pint review and sick mute grab from 10-year-old Downstater, dude shreds.
Right to repair 💯 That's the only thing keeping me from buying a One Wheel.
It's a valid concern. The one counter to that though is that they're truly well built machines. Very few failures in the wild. Especially with the newer versions.
My only regret is not getting my first board sooner. I have 4 XRs and a PINT-X... I have repaired every single one of them and no one has stopped me.

Deciding factor for me was the off-road abilities
Well said, I agree with all that you said. I put 350km on a pint and then upgraded to the XR.
Nice. In Canada?
@@downstateradv Yes sir.
Try a good quality mountain board for the carve. Acedeck makes a nice one. Most people build their own. I get 45 miles range on mine.
Genuinely the pandemic depression killer, I loved this thing!
I just brought my Pint from Miami to SFO.. kept it in the overhead compartment

Hey, I would love to hear your opinion on the pint X, are you thinking about buying it?
Definitely. Perfect mix of all the boards.
What scooter is he talking about?
Swappable batteries would be a game changer
For sure
I don't think it's built and designed, I believe it's designed and assembled in the US. Parts are built over seas if I'm not mistaken
I haven't checked to see if you own an XR or not, but how do you feel they compare when the pint has a quart battery upgrade?

EXACTLY THE REASON WHY I DON'T GET ONE IS BECAUSE OF THE POINTS THAT YOU WERE MAKING NEAR THE END OF YOUR SPEECH
You can take the pint on a plane, not the XR though.
Parts are made in China, designed and assembled in USA. Right?
Some parts are us made as well and other countries.
You nailed this review. Except it's you that's getting the booze and murdering doughnuts. Not the machine. 🤣
Valid point 🤣
