You started at 95th Street in the Beverly neighborhood.
Western extends further south from there through Mount Greenwood and into Blue Island.
Myself, I usually take Ashland.
Ashland is the Goldilocks of North-South streets in Chicago:
Not too congested. Not too far west. Not too close to downtown.
And it hits all of the important neighborhoods.
Western is like playing a game of Red Light. Green Light.
The traffic lights are not synchronized.
I do like that Western Avenue - Western Boulevard dual section over by Archer.
