Actually, the 'Cargo ships having harpoons' is a great equaliser. The only reason I would think twice before hitting a transport convoy is getting flagged and snitched by them to the SGs (then subsequently getting missile striked) and Definitely not because of their escort or firepower. This exploit was so easily farmable to a point where I did a whole Hard campaign only using guerilla hit-&-run pirate tactics. If those transport cruiser class transport ships [Kadesh, Kastor, Pegasus, Pollux, Odyssey] had harpoons, I would have definitely hesitated to hit them.

Hey guys, if y'all are wondering, yes, when an enemy shoots you with a harpoon, you lose control to engines and thrusters. I tested this by playing against a bunch of HOOKs with my Saint mark, and the funniest thing is that after they hooked me, they flew below my ship and my fatass crushed them as I went down XD
Love how they completely give up on using their engines once you harpoon them.

i feel like this could be added to the game if the attached ship didn't have their engines and guns paralysed

Honestly I think a possible mechanic of the enemy fighting against the tension in the cable is cut so that’s why the enemy doesn’t fight back
