Nice reaction! On the piano is the co-writer of the song, Toby Gad. Just to let you know, the other co-writer of the song, BC Jean, was the first to sing the song as well as the person the song came from. The man that she was in love with had just broken up with her. Per Toby, he played it for Beyonce one day and she really wanted to sing and use this song, and the rest you say is history. Angelina and Toby have been working together for a while now and are creating new music for her to sing. They teased a song at a special event called Bad Valentine and it should be coming out within a few months. This collaboration is awesome! The Piano Diaries is Toby's project of other singers singing his most famous songs. Angelina of course is singing this song made famous by Beyonce.

I don't really like the Beyonce cover that was a big hit back in 2008, but I absolutely love this version by Angelina as it is dripping with emotion & her belts & runs are gorgeous, as is she.

The pianist here is Toby Gad, who actually co-wrote the song along with BC Jean. He is one of the most respected and extremely talented songwriter/producer/musicians (he plays several instruments) in the music industry, having written or co-written and produced songs for many of the world's top artists, perhaps most famously "All Of Me" with John Legend, among many others. He is soon releasing an album, "The Piano Diaries", consisting of reimagined versions of some of his most popular songs, performed by different artists. He invited Angelina to sing this song, and they are also working together to produce new songs.

Toby Gad was the Co-Writer of this song and many other classics, is releasing an album called “The Piano Diaries” with all the songs redone with new artists singing them and he chose AJ to do this one. But they are also writing new music together and a sneak peak of the firs one is our “Bad Valintine.” It maybe the not only be the best original AJ has ever done it may be her best Vocal.

She is simply unique and with a wonderful melodic perception. This interpretation (not a cover for me) with one of the authors of the song (Toby Gad) playing the piano, is curative for the your soul and the soft background accompaniment of the piano and cello give her a beautiful silky backdrop, until that wonderful whispered final phrase "... but you are just a boy".💛🧡❤
This is a Toby Gad and B.C. Jean creation Boyd. Beyonce' wanted to cover it after she heard it and the writers of it asked Angelina to perform it. Toby and Angelina are gonna release it at the end of the month with other songs . it isnt a Beyonce song like everybody keeps saying. Angelinas version is much more emotional than Beyonce' version. When Angelina sings I get lost in the beauty of it all, and this was an especially beautiful production and performance...but really, aren't they all? I expect this to be a magical year for our barefoot princess. Angelina is a story-teller supreme, gifted with a voice like none other. Good reaction, but with qualifications. She did not "take liberties" with the song because it was not a Beyonce cover, as if Beyonce's version were the benchmark. She and the composer collaborated (Toby Gad, at the piano) to do the song THEIR WAY. So now this performance stands on its own merit.
