@robbie5010 I like Buzelis as a prospect, and I like him paired with *some* of the Pistons players.... but you guys DESPERATELY need outside shooting. I think Buzelis will become at least a league-average three-point shooter in time.... but are the front office willing to lose 60ish games every year for the next three or four years while they wait for Buzelis to (possibly) shoot it well enough? I think you'd need to move someone on the roster for a legitimate shooter if you want to run with a core of Cade, Ivey, Duren, Ausar, Buzelis. In saying that, I'm genuinely excited about ALL FIVE of those guys as prospects, and I could see a world where any (and maybe even ALL of them) become All-Star calibre NBA players.... but all five together on the same team is just a really ugly fit in terms of roster construction. In the current-day NBA, where 3-point shooting is absolutely essential.... I don't trust a single one of those great young players to shoot 40% from three. Somehow, Buzelis might actually be the most likely of those five to shoot 40% from three at some point in his career. If I'm the Pistons, I actually think I would still take Buzelis if he's available at pick 5.... but which one of those five guys would you be most willing to let go of to get a shooter? Taking the best player available still makes sense when you're as bad as the Pistons are.... but they're now five or six years into their rebuild (Pistons started rebuilding BEFORE the #1 seed Thunder), so something needs to change roster construction-wise if they want to be even just "competitive." Detroit has an exciting roster full of talented pieces, but almost none of them fit together as a whole team. The franchise seems to have no vision, no clear direction, and no game plan for establishing an effective playstyle by building a cohesive roster that can play an intentional STYLE of basketball.
