Very informative video, thank you very much! It is always really interesting to see the engineering behind works of art. Making beautiful things that last is an art in itself.
Diane, instead of washers have you ever tried a T-nut,it’s like a nut that has a washer already, and the washer has spikes you can pound with a hammer into a pre drilled hole into plywood.the t-nut sinks into the plywood and acts as a nut.You can make small ply wood sections (circles,or what looks like a wheel and put them on the rod inside your sculptures parts…….that can connect to the paper. You wouldn’t have to do all that build-up inside on that washer. You’d cut some say 3” circles out of plywood,or whatever your inside dimension is.drill a hole in that center…..put your treaded T- nut in that hole and pound it in with a hammer. Now you can use that instead of a nut and washer…the edge of that wheel will align with the inside of the wall of your sculpture….

I love the engineering! It's one of my favorite things about making sculpture. Thank you for your commitment 😊

This sounds like a great idea. Maybe it would avoid some of the shrinkage that I'm getting. ‼️ Good, good 😃
