- We've talked about various DVD, Blu-ray, and VHS releases of the films of Laurel and Hardy, but much of our discussion has remained focused on their feature films.
Today we take a look at the most common way to dig up their (sound) short subjects before the official DVD set- Nostalgia Merchant's Comedy Classics VHS series.
The tapes, printed between 1986 and 1987, each contain 4 short subjects made between 1929 and 1935. While the groupings are pretty random, each video has at least one gem amongst its titles.
While the picture and sound quality leaves much to be desired (especially by today's standards), these were nonetheless integral parts of many a collector's library back in the day.
36 of L&H's 40 shorts were released as part of the series. Let's see what each VHS contains and also mention the 4 that slipped between the cracks... - ภาพยนตร์และแอนิเมชัน

Watching Laurel and Hardy is comfort food for me, and i debate with my friends why Laurel and Hardy is the GOAT; Head to head against the duo of Abott and Costello and The Three Stooges, Laurel and Hardy reign supreme IMO.
My Grandfather and I watched his extensive collection, of which i did not inherit.
I recommend you watch the movie Sons of the Desert, Flying Dueces, and my favorite short- The Music Box.
I take it back, Busy Bodies is my favorite
and Don't Forget WAY OUT WEST 1937. I Love in Colorized From 1985.
Don't Forget Other Good Comedy Team of Bing Crosby and Bob Hope Road Movies.
The 3 Stooges are my top pick, but Stan & Ollie run a close second. Sons of the Desert is one of my all-time favorite movies! Not sure what my favorite short subject would be from the duo. The Live Ghost was my favorite growing up. Glad you liked the video!

THE HOOSE-GOW was Release From NOSTALGIA MERCHANT Tape of HAL ROACH COMEDY CLASSICS VOL.1 From 1983.
I thought those Hal Roach Comedy Classics tapes only had the abridged versions of sone of their feature films. I'll have to see if I can find one with "The Hoosegow."

These LAUREL AND HARDY COMEDY CLASSICS VHS Tapes Originaly Come Out From 1978-1983. Like Vol.1 and 2 1978, Vol.3 and 4 1979, Vol.5 and 6 1980, Vol.7 and 8 1981 and Vol.9 in 1983 and 10th Vol is HAL ROACH COMEDY CLASSICS VOL.1 From 1983.
Sadly, I know that some of mine are reissues. I can't find any from the 1970s- those would be cool!
