- The snowy Wisconsin cabin where Jayme Closs was believed to be held captive for 88 days has been found in the days after her escape. Inside Edition visited the rundown remote cabin, which is set back from the road and surrounded by trees. A sign reads "Patterson's Retreat" above the front door. Now the yard is scattered with old cars and machinery. In the back of the home, there is a window to the basement where it's believed Closs was held. #InsideEdition

Thank god she was found alive. There is more children missing and families who need to be reunited, let’s remain vigilant with eyes wide open, and find the others and pray for justice for Jayme and the rest of the Closs family.

I grew up in the town next to where Jayme lived. Drove by that house 100s of times. I can say our small community really bonded through this. To see so many ppl searching for her. Truck drivers had her picture on their rigs. And Sheriff Fitzgerald really took this personal an did everything he could to cover every aspect of leads an such. I grew up with Fitzgerald and im proud to know him. Im so glad she had the courage to escape. Today is the 1 year anniversary of her escaping!!! Ill never forget this glorious day. An ill never forget Jaymes story. God bless her.....

I find it interesting that nobody is really talking about that fact that Jayme witnessed her mother being shot. That is horrifying enough. Then she was kidnapped and had to live with the knowledge that her family was dead and she may never go outside again. Not to mention she most likely saw her dad dead by the door as she was dragged out. The poor girl.

Some of my friends went to school with Patterson in highschool. They all said he was very antisocial and didn’t do good in school unless it was a typical “weird kid” thing, he was only good at. What a very brave girl. She clearly had the fight to keep going even after seeing her parents who were her two protectors killed. Thankfully she had the where with all to get out of the living hell in which she been confined.
May she be availed the help she will need to process the trauma that she experienced at the hand of a very sick individual.

Heading the voicemail from her grandfather when she was found is when I lost it. I can’t imagine the emotions he went through when he got the news his granddaughter was found and safe. Her family is awesome I can’t imagine what she went through from watching her parents be murdered then being kidnapped and held for so many day’s but thank god she was as brave as she was and managed to escape and run for help and now she’s back in the loving and supportive arms of her family.

In Wisconsin, if your cabin is up to date, it isn’t a cabin! That’s called a house. Your furniture, the walls and everything have to be from the 70s. The guy is a complete monster. But I have to say, I’m jealous of that cabin.
I'm absolutely glad she escaped, no help escaping from anyone which took alot of guts on her part, brave young girl! As far as his cabin and contents, means nothing, I got Ds in high school, I have a similar book somewhere in my house, maybe some empty MIKES HARD LEMONADE cans. But never had the urge or even thought process to obduct another person and keep them captive!
