The purpose of measuring an angle on each of those two different telescope positions or faces was to manage/adjust certain errors resulting from the fact that the tilting axis may not have been perfectly perpendicular to the turning axis of the instrument and that the line of sight of the telescope was not exactly perpendicular to the tilt axis. (Kent McMillan , 2017).

While you were taking the Fl observations, why didn't you press on R/L button to change the reading to Fl?

Usually in angle measurement, we survey the angle with both face left and face right position of theodolite, why we do like this?
