- Idols will always at some point run into problems, issues and accidents on stage when performing, and Taeyong and NCT are no exception to this. I made this little compilation of Taeyong handling stage problems extremely well, because I'm quite impressed of how smoothly he does it. Most of the time I never even notice the issues that occur until it is pointed out to me.
Also I can't believe that half of these clips are from performances of Cherry Bomb. But then again it is one of their most performed songs and it is quite long so many accidents have a chance of happening during it.
Anyways sorry for the low quality of the clips, I hope you will still enjoy it.

that whole sequence was epic taeyong! from the moment the laces started to slip through those scary steps it took for him to shuffle his way to the side to shed his shoes to his risky dancing like MAD in his stocking feet to that lowly costumer meekly setting his worn trusty boots at the edge of the stage & him casual slipping into them like the whole thing was...no biggy. A lesser dancer might have just tripped & landed on his ass but "TAEYONG!!!" turned it into a great kpop moment!

Who knows how he would have been under other agencies? But for someone who didn't even know the Big3 companies and had never danced before, he now is an amazing dancer and rapper. I think both Taeyong and SM should get credit for that. So I am glad he joined SM 🥰

I really love how he always find the subtlest ways possible to handle with the problems and how he manage to make it seems like he was just adding a new gesture to his dance when he was actually gathering the pocket mic, this man keeps on amazing me with his talents and now his professionalism on stage 😩💚
yes. it SEEMS like a "a new gesture" because it IS a new gesture. A mistake or accident does not fluster Taeyong because he KNOWS they happen he EXPECTS them to happen & he also knows he can improvise to incorporate one when it does. He has that confidence because he IS a consummate performer, skilled enough & experienced enough & aware enough & adept enough to not only recall & master every prepared motion of a planned performance but to notice & incorporate ANY change that happens ANYWHERE on the stage WHILE he is performing. His own sureness instills a confidence in his audience that he WILL execute a flawless performance if the circumstances are perfect...or not.

Best leader ever......I've seen sooo many leaders of kpop groups since the time I entered into the kpop world......but Taeyong is teally something......most cases leaders lack of skil on their position as vocalist or rapper or dancer but TY is the best in his position....if the leaders are good at their position then they might be emotionally or any other flaws.....but this is the first time I saw someone who is just perfect.......Taeyong really is the piller of NCT and the members also believe and follow him completely......everyone likes or respects him and so NCT has a very strong bond and faith......Everybody say THANK YOU, TAEYONG.......

@@mingi1489 nah u must understand the kpop norms tho.. in some groups, someone is only a leader just because they dont have something they are best at (meaning that they are usually the "filler" members, i.e. can sing but not the main vocal, can rap but not the main rapper, can dance but not the main dancer, handsome but not the main visual) or simply because they are the oldest member.
But Taeyong here is actually leader bc he has that leadership skills, despite already being the visual/face of the group, main dancer and main rapper. That's what they're trying to get here.

Personally, ive been into kpop fr more than a decade, seen and stanned a lot since my first grp dbsk (yes even some of the grps u mentioned). Nowhere have i seen a situation where the members literally gravitate/crowd towards the leader when they dont know what to do in an interview/show(see nct life in paju) or where the leader can control the members with a swift look or a few words without being mean, and im sure u hv seen the meme where the mc is asking whos nct2018 leader and everyone looks at taeyong first fr conformation, then taeyong answered "theres no leader" and everyone nods..yes that meme is real, see weekly idol
Taeyong is Taeyong no matter how the odds are not in his favor. He gets through it because he worked hard to be what he is now.

Not an NCTzen here my thoughts: this is some of the most professional content I have seen. From all the mic pack incidents to him taking off his shoes mid performance like wow. He is extremely smooth with hiding all of these accidents and fixing them very calmly and smoothly, very impressive. Like I just watched a video of western artists and how they deal with accidents on stage and a lot of them were stopping mid concert or getting frustrated on stage. And then you have this child here who doesn’t draw attention to his accidents and quickly and efficiently fixes the problem. His facial expressions aren’t even changing like what many artists do when something goes wrong. Honestly if I were to watch these without the slow mos and explanations, I probably would have not even noticed any of these. Fantastic work Taeyong a true artist.

HERE'S ONE TO ADD: The NCT127 Global Citizen Central Park Concert
Just ONE WEEK before Taeyong & Mark would debut LIVE with SuperM on the other coast in Hollywood, THIS almost deserves a video of it's own when it comes to Taeyong's smooth handling of mishaps (and other members too)
This was a HUGE event, Queen w/Adam Lambert headlining, tons of stars & a massive crowd with NCTzens out in force for them! NCT127 LOOKED fabulous & rocked their featured two song set. But festival stages can be haphazard, There had been lighting issues on Highway to Heaven (they began literally dancing in the dark) and in SuperHuman the HUGE hole left by Jungwoo was evident. Improvising with a member out is enough to fluster a lesser leader for sure, but his 127 members filled in for Jungwoo with loving assurance. Still there were a few...issues.
Straight off, Taeyong spins to find Doyoung's heal is caught in his cord he CAN'T GET UP just seconds before his first line! Taeyong knows how rehearsed 127 is...his boy's got this...so he registers NO reaction to that crisis...none at all...as Doyoung manages to kick loose to hit his cue. (At some point later Jaehyun also has mic issues but he, too, manages them).
Tayong allows himself a rare victory fist as he nails that dip he had slightly slipped on the day before (in a promotional NYC street appearance) and all looks well for the rest of the song...until...in the last moment, during his head roll, Taeyong's dangling earring CATCHES on his collar and he CAN'T straighten his head! Taeyong calmly falls back in the line to turn in an improvised spin as he RIPS out the earring to complete Superhuman, as we see...without it.
Start to finish, the crowd didn't notice...any...of that going on and even in the video below we barely see it even when we know it's there. #ProsatWork
