    I saw Jeff on his first tour of Canada. It was $2.00 on the first night and $5.00 on Friday. The room was packed. Every guitarist in town was front and center watching him rip it up.

    Everyone on that stage is a legend. Marcus Miller slappin the bass, Dr. John on keyboards, Omar Hakim on drums and of course the mind blowing Jeff Healey on guitar. This was lightning in a bottle. No auto tune, no pitch shift, just talent. Imagine

      "lightning in a bottle" is the perfect description of that performance. Four legends in their own right coming together to create one of the best live performances of my lifetime. If aliens came down from space and wanted to know what is this music thing you earthlings have I would show them this video. 😁

    In 1983, I used to go and listen to Jeff play at a small club called the Cameron House in Toronto. I must have watched him there from a front row seat about 5 times. He played this "See The Light" most times. At that time he was only 17 years old, but the talent was already there in full force; he was still too young to legally order a beer. Boy, this brings back some great memories. Apparently, there was also a band called "Rush" in town … you should pay them some time ;-}

    When I first heard Jeff Healey on the local rock station was the song "Confidence Man" of his debut album "Confidence Man" it blew my mind!! Headed right to the record store and bought it the first day!! I have been a fan ever since! He played in Detroit, Michigan all the time being as Canada's right next door. I saw him seven times and it was like a religious experience watching him playing his guitar! I've never seen anything like it!! My wife and I had meet and greet tickets backstage. He was a super nice guy, very humble! Just a phenomenal guitarist and human being. One of the greats! Check out his 1994 Live At Grossman's performance! The whole album is just killer! He does Jimi Hendrix songs "Killing Floor" and "All Along the Watchtower" It will blow you mind! Love your channel and your great reactions

    How did I possibly miss this reaction video when you first released it?! The entire band is killing it, but Jeff Healey is absolutely on fire and this is one of my favorite blues-rock guitar solos of all time. His technical ability is amazing, but his phrasing and the passion he puts into the playing is incredible.

    If he looks familiar to people who aren't familiar with his music, he had an appearance on the movie "Road House" with Patrick Swayze. One of my all time favorite musicians! You don't necessarily think of world class blues from a blind white Canadian. He is missed...

  • @combatveteranusnavy2012

    Standing or sitting, whatever, in my opinion he's the greatest lead guitarist of all time. I'm 69 years old have been a rock, and a Blues lover, and I've never heard anyone, including Clapton, Hendrix, Page, Richie Blackmore, Tony Iommi, and yes, and even Stevie Ray Vaughn (although he's very close) be able to play with the speed Jeff Healy can play.

    Great review. His first album got me through hell. I had almost been killed in a mill accident the year before and instead of retraining me I was forced to go back to the mill. I had been having night terrors nightly and was shaking the whole 50 minute drive to the mill, with his album up very loud giving me some strength. If Jeff could overcome so could I.

    Got to see Jeff twice. The first time was a full show with him headlining and no opener. He played a theater of about 2,500 seats. Perfect sized venue for his thing. What a stupendous talent and incredible sound. Truly sublime. The other time was as the curtain call after a full set by the Robert Cray Band as opener, a full set by Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble (the night before SRV was killed - we caught his first of the two final shows he did at Alpine Valley), and a full set by Eric Clapton. Eric brought Jeff out (unexpectedly, none of us in the audience knew he was there that night) during the curtain call. Jeff TORE IT UP BIG TIME. Stupendous player. For real.

    Killer reaction guys, this video brings back so many memories. It's the first time I saw Jeff Healey play. It's from the David Sandborn Show and that's the late great New Orleans legend Dr. John on piano. The David Sandborn Show ran in syndication for only a couple of seasons in the late 80s early 90s and always had a killer and varied lineup of musical guest. David ia phenomenal saxophone player, would often jam with his guest. Jeff of course was a brilliant guitarist and vocalist with truly original playing style. You should check out his biggest hit single the ballad "Angel Eyes". This is also going to have me doing deep dive looking for more David Sanborn Show clips.
