Truex has history with Ragan dating to Sonoma 2015. Ragan pit manuevered MTJ and took him out of the race.
"Give me a freakin break! The 19 just came up and asked if we were gonna drop to the rear... We're on the lead lap, we're leading the race. No we're not gonna drop to the rear." 19 finishes 1st, Ragan finishes 15th... looks like he dropped to the rear to me LOL

It's his time to retire, 7 Cup Championships and all of those wins. Stage racing doesn't belong in NASCAR, this is not the NFL or NBA where a human body need's to rest after a certain amount of time but this is racing where the machine is doing most of the work.

I'm an 11 fan. But Denny is costing JGR more money this year than what's it's worth. Wouldn't be surprised if he was replaced at season end.

I must admit I'd like to see Christopher Bell in that car, but Hamlin has already won 2 races this year, including the Daytona 500. Hamlin isn't leaving / retiring unless Hamlin wants to.
@@billhudson2196 LFR is most likely moving to a 2 full time team operation so either Bell will go there or replace Jones since he isnt performing that good this year and jones will go there

You never showed a replay at the end of the race of how Denny Hamlin wrecked on the last lap.I still don't know what happened, other than his car was really torn up.
They showed it. I can't remember exactly what happened but I think someone got into the back of him and it turned him across the front end of another car, sending him into the inside wall.

Could somebody please explain as to why Nascar runs this race in stages. Surely it's far better and makes better viewing to just run 400 straight laps, or am I missing something here?

It's basically like a competition caution. It keeps the field closer together, making for closer racing.

Eddie Brandle The aero packages don't allow the cars to run close for more than maybe 20 laps tops.
It wouldn't be a race without stages. It would be an over glorified parade.

They did show it. It was Truex performing the PIT maneuver on the #52. Lost a lot of respect for Truex right there.

@@Chris-el7nn It's not like he did it on purpose. The front end got away from him coming off the corner. The same thing happened earlier in the race and Truex hit the wall because of it, you think he did that on purpose too?

If I’m chase truex is getting door checked next race
The only thing that happened was the toyotas kept smacking walls, some people got bumped and turned, and some restarts had good racing for 1 or 2 laps and then it came to single file racing with no hope of passing or competing for the lead.
No one seems to be racing like they have a fire under them. Its just a procession line until the last half of the last stage.
Nascar has always had single file racing at Charlotte. This isnt Talladega, and this race had 30 lead changes among 11 drivers. Well over 1,000 more passes than last year. And then we had multiple midfield teams getting really good finishes (Buescher, Ragan, Lajoie). And the winner rallied back from contact with the wall to win by 0.3 seconds, instead of 5 or 6.

Dale sr would have made sure Toyota never got in Nascar, its ruined the sport. And he would have despised the points system and the segment racing. If he was still with us i believe the sport would still be as popular as it was in the 90s because he had enough pull with Nascar to convince them what is best for ratings.

He wouldn't of won if NASCAR didn't change anything. William Byron was dodging all those wrecks and he had a fast car. Adios NASCAR and thank you Jeff Gordon for bringing this once great sport out from the south and making it the 2nd most watched sport in The United States. nascar is in the trash.
Fozzgate not for sure what you didn’t change anything? Yes Jeff Gordon really helped expose nascar to more people. But nascar was racing up north and out west long before Jeff came along.
