This is just the right place to practice speaking, I pause the video after every question and answer it. It's tremendously useful and I can have a good guess of my score. So far this guy is using quite advanced words during his test, so I think that the score that he got is fine. I presented the IELTS test last week and I got a 6.0 for the speaking section, therefore I'm using these videos to improve my score.
I want to ask you something that . Did you use the academic words or just the similar words? I am studying IELTS so I want to hear the ones who make the test.
Using advanced vocabulary undoubtedly helps, but being as confident as possible as well as speaking fluently , and if possible not hesitantly, helps even more, and that's I how I got 7.5 in the speaking section, which was surprisingly high for me, since in my country hardly anyone speaks any language other than Spanish and I have no native English speaking friends. On top of that I had very little preparation for that part ,not because I felt overly confident but the exam date caught up with me before I had enough time to prepare for the speaking. I found the writing section the hardest by a large stretch , I only scored 6.5 in that section and I got 9 and 8.5 scores in the listening and reading sections respectively which gave me an overall score of 8.0, but still , my writing is pretty bad as opposed to my listening and reading.
First things first, thank you for participating in this mock test. Let me say that this guy has really good command of a language and there's no doubt that we can learn a lot from this video because of that. Also, I liked how he handled stress and even though he was feeling nervous, he still managed to do his best and got great results. I wish you all the best and don't worry you did everything great. In the first part of speaking test we need to be precised, no need to find more ideas to make the answer lengthy and try not to repeat the sentences to much. This guys' efforts are appriciatable Cz it's obvious to get nervous in front of a native and on the top of that when you're being filmed👍. thank you...

Examiner was NOT supposed to engage with you. It wasn't banned or anythng, just wasn't encouraged. You're just supposed to read the questions on the paper; I am an examiner myself once and was reprimanded just for saying "okay" or "well", this examiner here in mock test is something you almost wouldn't see in real test

I didn't quite get the difference between band 6 and 7 in terms of grammatical range (I know about accuracy) What I got is that at band 6 a candidate uses both simple and complex sentences but the variety of complex structures is limited. On the other hand, at band 7 a candidate again uses both simple and complex sentences except that the variety of complex sentences is expected to be higher than at band 6. Am I right? Or that at band 6 using a mix of complex and simple structures means that the candidate tends to use for the 50% of the speech simple sentences and for the 50% of the speech complex structures (and at band 7 most user's language consists of complex structures, like 70%?)
You guys are so mean....lol. My appreciation to the volunteer examinee, and yes, it was 6 performance. Part 1 was so templated and wordy, too many self-correction caused repetitions. If he have had 7 in real test, I surmise that he may out of practices for weeks. I am a mean person too...
I'm not sure. Asking for a repetition is also an important part of a language, so if you don't understand something, you can ask and show that you're able to do it.

Overall, 6.5 is good enough for many non-native English speakers. 7 requires a bit more than just understanding and answering all questions. The only thing stopped him of getting 7+ bands is translation. He did both translation from mother language and speaking at a time. And that's the main barrier.

there are so many comments about doubting the score. the test requires improvised answers so even native speakers can feel difficulty. human can't be perfect don't judge other with small part of it.

He has an incredible advanced English level, but he was so nervous that it affected his score immediately.
