Easily the best podcast John has ever done. This is an elite pod. Gruden is a superstar listen, he doesnt give us any media BS, just straight football guy talk!
I agree, saw him with the 3rd mic guys and thought Jay is about as interesting NFL insider I’ve seen; great personality and funny. Perfect match for John. Should consider a weekly show, think it would be very well received.
Jay is awesome to listen to!! He’s as entertaining and knowledgeable as his brother!! Why isn’t this man on TV? Hope you have him on regularily…. Dallas fan and I always hated him cuz he was with the Redskins… this interview changed my mind haha
Great listening to a former coach/player who's not in the media. Gruden was open and honest, unlike some folks who over exaggerate in the interest of making headline statements.
Jay sounds exactly how I would have thought John grudens’s brother would sound😂 both are football junkies, love the game in its pure form and you can’t tell they love talking about it. Need more from Jay! He didn’t give any bs answers and he has so many first hand experiences, excellent insight.
Love your content! 40K subs is a really nice milestone. I see some other sports TH-cam channels out there that have more subs than you, and it blows my head off. You are so much more insightful and entertaining than 90% of other youtubers. Hopefully you will be up towards that million subscriber range someday!
Part of being a good backup is exactly what Jay said, you need to be a great teammate and typically you can help coach the first string QB especially if they're new with the system without being a threat to their job. Case in point is Chase Daniel .. dude had 8 career TD passes and played for more than a decade and earned $41.8M but he showed up everyday and from what ppl have said, he was an amazing teammate and very knowledgeable about the playbook and had the respect to give information to the QBs ahead of them. A lot of QBs won't take advice from a backup unless theyre proven. Chase Daniel is the epitome of shit up and do your job.
Actually agree on 90’s era Arena ball…it was clear something was there as an adjunct to real football. It worked cause it was viewer friendly and simultaneously similar yet radically different compared to full blown NFL/college football. Could’ve been a much better version of these other leagues that constantly pop up and fail, offering more dudes the opportunity to make $, develop some talent a la Kurt Warner, while allowing ex NFL guys to play another year or two in some cases.
It’s crazy how the only ones saying the Panthers made the right decision benching Bryce are Panthers fans, former QBs, and former coaches. That’s crazy 😂😂
I think the issue with Bryce is his build. Kyler Murray and Zeke Elliott are under 6' but are built like tanks. Bryce is built like Marques Brownlee and you'd think he's reviewing the latest iphone. Lamar has a lean build as well but hes 6'3"ish?
Bryce isn’t Baker. Baker had a great rookie season and had some other ebs and flows which are consistent with the Browns but he was never the problem in Cleveland. Bryce is the problem in Carolina.
Is there a slight saltiness in Jays voice when talking about McVay? Also, he didn't come into that great of a situation with the Rams. He came into a great organization. The Rams were awful the year before, Goff had a terrible terrible first year, and no Ramsey was not there until 2019.
Jay Gruden is a star! Most honest analysis, pulls no punches
He would be a good analyst
I remember when Jay called out RG3 on Twitter. Gruden made him look foolish.
John got a LEGIT podcast guest today!
I could’ve sat through at least 2 hours of this. Excellent interview John!
Dude is a football wizard. Could listen to Jay for hours

Great interview. Thanks John
This was a fresh breath of authenticity. Jay was awesome because he really seemed honest with his answers, respect.
The Grudens are awesome. Could listen to them all day!
Great interview. You're the best, John!
Great interview!!! Keep crushing John!!! Love watching the Pod grow & blow up

@@bmeyer19791 Agreed. This is a winning combo for sure
what a great interview, nice job John!
Fantastic interview John. One of your best I've listened to. And I've listened to them all.
This was a great listen, keep these up.
I really enjoyed this. Great job.

Dallas fan and I always hated him cuz he was with the Redskins… this interview changed my mind haha
Make him a regular! Best podcast episode yet
Glad to see another Gruden talking football with their own twists and quarks and take.
Great listening to a former coach/player who's not in the media. Gruden was open and honest, unlike some folks who over exaggerate in the interest of making headline statements.
Thankyou exactly the right comments we'll said!!
Jay is swiftly becoming my favorite analyst…
He’s great

That was a great interview… I’d love to hear more of his perspectives if you can get him back on in the future.
Great interview enjoyed it!
Loved this!!!!
Best guest ever.
Excellent! More on golf Jon - love it.
Jay Gruden is an AFL legend
Amazing interview
This is that nerdy shyt I love. This was great!

Good stuff
Jay Gruden sounds like Dan Akroyd from The Great outdoors
Redskins fan here. Most of us were rooting for Cousins after 2013. No idea what Gruden was referring to

Really interesting to listen to.
Lolll John didn’t mention rg3 when he talked about the qbs jay gruden worked with.
Great interview

quality interview.
Great stuff.
Now you need to John Gruden on! His new YT channel is very impressive.
The great cam young
Jay is great
Coaches hate taking accountability for players playing poor. Jay Gruden is case in point example #1.
And people on social media love commenting things they would never say in person. Case in point example #1 forgottenathletepodcast
John needs to be back in the nfl
This rules

Gruden lineage. 🏈
Bo Nix started 61 games in college.
Bryce Young as an NFL starting QB was a stretch from the beginning right?
Can't make Bryce taller he's to small at this time to be a NFL starting QB!
Bryce isn’t Baker. Baker had a great rookie season and had some other ebs and flows which are consistent with the Browns but he was never the problem in Cleveland. Bryce is the problem in Carolina.
John Gruden did nothing wrong.
I wouldn’t say nothing
Did you not see the emails 😂
@@KHY_001 Which is exactly why we know he did nothing wrong
@@museli_addict oh, can you enlighten me?
@@KHY_001the emails were light.
Then why did Minnesota never draft a QB to complete with Kirk ? Because he's always afraid of being replaced!
Cam Young?
👍👍👍
So you talk bad about certain coaches and say they don’t know what they be doing but bring on Jay Gruden like he was a good coach 😂
He knows football if he made it to coach the big leagues the success he had or lack of is irrelevant to that fact.
Gruden really interesting to listen. The host BOOOORING!!!!
Is there a slight saltiness in Jays voice when talking about McVay?
Also, he didn't come into that great of a situation with the Rams. He came into a great organization. The Rams were awful the year before, Goff had a terrible terrible first year, and no Ramsey was not there until 2019.
Go back to last year with Fangio and the Dolphins vs the Titans on the last drive. Carbon copy.
“Failed coach criticizes the coach of the number #1 offense in the league.”
Gruden, on Shanahan. Comical.
Do you want me to get you the waaaaambulance!!!
Great interview. You don't get many chances to get inside the mind of a coach.
Great interview....really enjoyed it.
