    I love this notebook and am reading the instructions and watching video, All of the instructions have sizes for spine. • @gayleenfall2916

    Hi Kay, I love the notebook covers. I am a beginner and have made this one but when I was doing the tab I had some problems with my machine stitching with the same thread in the bobbin (embroidery thread) as the top thread. It would sew up and down, from left to right when basting both batting and then the fabric but when it was sewing from right to left it was all looping, tension problem I would assume but confused because it sewed in other directions perfectly. Would you have any idea what happened there please? Most appreciate your time, thank you.

    • @KaysCutz
      @KaysCutz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Gayleen, it could be several reasons and it is trial and error to find out which is causing the issue.
      1 Slow your machine right down when stitching thicker items, if your machine is stitching too fast the bobbin thread doesnt have time to catch the top thread and in turn you get a loop instead this can also happen when your hoop bounces.
      2. Try adjusting your top tension a little too. Some machines are picky when it comes to stitching through several layer or denser fabrics. The tension could be too tight or too loose for your fabric.
      3. Remove the thread completely from the machine. Re-thread the machine. The upper thread could be tangled.
      4. Check your combination of the needle size, thread size and fabric is incorrect. 75/11 for 40# regular thread or 90/14 for 40# Metallic thread. You need to use the correct size needle and thread for the type of fabric that you are sewing. If the problem persists contact your dealer as your machine may require service.
      I hope this helps you.

    Please do a video for those of us who have to do all of the hoopings and do everything separately. I went back-and-forth between this and another of the kreative kiiwi notebooks with an initial on the front and went crazy. I’m going to be 80 next week, so I’m pretty proud of myself for figuring it out but I have to tell you it was extremely difficult. My sewing room looks like a tornado hit it. It’s really not easy to use the other notebook the video because things are done differently. How I figured it out will never know but I did it. . I guess it was today’s brain game.👍😄👏👏👏 please make a video for those of us who have to do all of the different hooping, front, back spine and tab. Mine turned out, I don’t know how, but it did. And I love it. I’ll make another just not right away. In the meantime, I’ll watch for the video that won’t work this. By the way, thank you for all of your great videos. You do a super job of explaining things.

    • @lunasmum6869

      I was wondering where I would get it in the UK! A6 paper is tiny, a quarter of A4 but I think the notebook sizes may be different? I will take a tape measure with me next time I go into town.
      I've just looked online and it is 4.1 inches by 5.8 inches (or 105 x 148 mm for those who like metric measurements. I hate them though I am in UK. Definitely an Imperial measurements girl!) so I have a measurement to look out for.

    • @KaysCutz
