I feel like the Card resistance up isn't really that powerful on the Valks... you don't even notice it if you have the Damage CE Tho, Lady Avalon on turn 3 putting Invincibility gave me a hard time

If you didn't beat the Solomon singularity that could be it. If not they usually require you to beat the story or climb the event ladder missions.
