    I really enjoy these videos and love Clarissa. As these videos reach a more broader audience who may or may not speak Chinese I hope the city names can be pronounced correctly going forward to avoid confusion.

    This is so cool! I hope there's also an episode coming about the north/north east. It's so hard to find since so many videos focus on Shanghai and Sichuan!
    My boyfriend is from Shenyang, Liaoning and I always love to learn about his culture!

    The scallion pancake shop featured in this video is the famous Ada Pancake aka 阿大葱油饼. But I have to be honest with you, this is Not the authentic version of Shanghai style scallion pancake. It’s way too greasy. This is what the locals refer as pan fry pancake or 油煎饼.

    I'm not the first one to comment on Clarissa's minnan/taiwan accent. I love this channel and I respect dialect accents. But I do wish she would at least use standard mandarin pronunciation for names of places, considering her role as the producer. "Yang ceng" instead of "Yang cheng" and "Sang hai" instead of "Shanghai".... Kind of makes me cringe.

    • @adal3737
      @adal3737 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@neofils there is no universally "standard" English. But there is a standard/official Mandarin (Putonghua). People use standard Mandarin for formal affairs and on TV. I speak a Chinese dialect but I use standard Mandarin at work and in official settings. If I had to film and produce a show, I'd speak in standard Mandarin too. But then again, this is a preference of mine. As is the opinion above... My opinion.

    Tried my hand at making the squirrel fish a week ago. Difficult when it came to the cutting part. Needless to say it didn't turn out quite as eye pleasing as I expected but it tasted alright. Might need a few more practice rounds to get the flower shape of the fish right
