You mentioned how EXO have really great vowels compared to some of the other groups you’ve reviewed and that’s because SM Entertainment is the only Kpop company that consistently teaches their artists proper and healthy vocal techniques. Generally, if you see them straying away from their technique, it’s a completely stylistic decision, they know exactly what they’re doing. EXO themselves are also obsessed with their own vocal training; Chen has said if he weren’t in EXO he would be a vocal coach, and Baekhyun is always talking about how he attends vocal lessons ~4 times a week, despite already being an incredibly accomplished singer, 8 years into his career.

Ok, you're correct that the 1st person (Chanyeol-main rapper/who sang creep) forgot what he's about to say, he's always like that. Prolonging a sound, then they decided to play along. The one who's in charge in the low notes is in 4:26 i think (D.O. - main vocal/rnb prince of kpop) He is also in charge of most of the adlibs and runs of Exo, he is praised for his agility. The one you've pointed that maybe incharge in the low notes ( Baekhyun -main vocal) is actually incharge in mid or high notes.
Exo are the Vocal Kings of 3rd Gen Kpop. They are a powerhouse.

All EXO main vocals do low notes. Kyungsoo isn't really in charge of them....Chen and Baek have lower note parts all the time as well. And also do a lot of runs and ad-libs as well...in most EXO songs really.
I have been raving about Baek's tone for so long. It is really lovely my heart can't take it sometimes (no, most of the time haha).

They weren't rookies. They were rookies the first few years of their career (2012 and 2013 bc the first 2 years are the rookie years) but by 2014 they were officially not rookies. So the clips are old but not rookies

The 1st open arms performance, the MC asked them to perform it out of the blue, and the fans were screaming, so that is prob why they sounded off. That was in China and the boys were not prepared to perform it.

5:20 you’re partially correct about how the language doesn’t always lend itself to opening their mouth for certain vowels. This is because the Korean language has 21 vowels with 10 unique ending sounds (to the best of my knowledge). What sounds like “ah” here is actually “eo” or “uh” which is a more closed vowel but changing it to ah would change the word. I feel like in English we can get away with changing some of the way we pronounce words and it can retain its meaning but in Korean, it happens, but less so.

Also there's a cultural difference regarding what sounds good and pleasant. In many cultures the way US artists sing isn't something they do in their culture. It's not that kpop groups don't have the skill to do it, they just have another cultural style of singing, with focus on emotion and sensitive nuances. To me it's charming and more pleasant to listen to, but it's just a matter of taste. ^^

EXO are really one of the best vocal groups in Kpop( the specialists in the industry said so not just the fans ). They ALL can sing, even the rappers, it's true that not all of them can hit high notes or hold low notes very well but they have unique voices and they know how to use them to their advantage. *Chen, Kyungsoo (D.O) and Baekhyun* are the 3 main vocalists of the group, they have been praised by other idols and music specialists for their vocals, strength and their beautiful techniques, then we have *Xiumin and Suho* (Suho-the leader of the group) that are the lead vocalists but if you ask me they are just as good as the main vocalists, I find their voices very distinctive and unique, they also know how to "play" with their voices which is beautiful to listen to. Then we have the dancers/rappers *Sehun and Kai* (kai was voted by idols and kpop industries specialist+profesioanl dancers as the best kpop dancer), but even if they are rappers they still can sing. Kai's voice is so soft and It feels like honey to me >.< Sehun is indeed the member who sings the least but his voice is special too and in the last 2 years he started working more on it and the improvements can be seen and we love it. *Chanyeol* is the MAIN rapper but man, the guy can SING!!! He raps so well but his singing is also so freaking good. Even non-EXO fans are saying that he can sing better than some other groups vocalists and that's A LOT for a rapper! We are very proud of him! And then we have our CHINA SHEEP *Zhang Yixing aka Lay.* This man is A TREASURE! He's a very well rounded artist, he sings, dances, compose, produce, he's an actor as well and he's one of the biggest artists in China at the moment. He's known for his wish to make China and Chinese music known in the whole world and he works very hard for that. He has also produced ALL HIS 4 ALBUMS HIMSELF!!! ALL OF IT!!!

Although I think Chanyeol is the best rapper in the group(and the worst dancer in the group...he has come a long way since the beginning). Kai also does a good job rapping too, has a decent singing voice and is one of the best dancers in kpop.

The first vocal harmony clip literally happened in a middle of speech. The 1st guy was speaking and went "ah.." while thinking for his next words. Then, the 2nd guy like a cheeky boy that he who likes to mess around jumped in and all the rest of them.

Yeah, In Kpop it's a thing to force the neck veins to pop whens singing to show how passionate you are and its supposed to be sexy. Mostly practiced and seen amongst male idols.

Edit: yes, I thought so too. Open Arms acapella was a little bit off. They probably weren't given the proper key or something and yes, I dont think they were confident being an english song as well. This was just I think a few months after they debuted.
Someone said it was unexpected for them to sing it and they hadn't practiced. That would make sense

I have been watching other reaction vocal coach towards EXO.. They say Exo have a vocal like a trumpet if i not mistaken.. As example Flat A Or Flat B.. They said Exo sing very well than the other group in kpop industries.. and you know,i believe it because i like kpop since 8 years old.. From back then until now, i have seen many group and i know when they are lip sync in live performance.. You will never met a group like EXO again who can sing live performances without lip sync and very smooth.. #IMEXOL

I’ve only been following EXO for just a few months, (just in time for them to split and go their own ways ☹️ but love them. Have you reacted to Dimash? The only performers ( and reactors) I watch are EXO and Dimash. Dimash is a master of technique, stage presence, range, tones, scoops, fry, glissando, staccato, vibration. There is Nothing he cannot do. If you do, start with SOS. I like the Chinese The Singer version, 2017, but all of his are amazing and differ from each other. Also, when his fans (Dears) find you, you will be bombarded by comments and subscriptions. I don’t want to give away anything, but: he is now 26, from Kazakhstan, has perfect pitch, amazing breath control, six octaves, multiple genres, has been studying voice since he was five years old. Everyone 100% says he is the best singer in the world. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE cover DIMASH!

Yeah your guess was correct .they're tired .you know sometimes they are so tired that some fell down during the concert and some even can't breathe properly so they used (i don't know its called but) that oxygen mask. But they stilll perform their best.😃😃😃
