I still find it hard to fathom how a cathedral so recent still looks as grand as those ancient ones of the United Kingdom…Lincoln Cathedral for example.

If Christ is not preached and exalted, it is not Christian. It is something else.

== The Conglomerate - Universe Creation Theory ==
combining GOD/Nature, ancient religions, astronomy, cosmology, laws of physics, general relativity, quantum mechanics, chaos theory/fractals, laws of biology & chemistry, linguistics, mysticism, and philosophy
“Energy can’t be created or destroyed, only transformed/transferred in an isolated system.”
General relativity allows black holes, white holes and Big Bang.
‘The BIG Bang-Bit Bang’ inflation/expansion of energy and information into the void 13.8 billion years ago was a supermassive white hole spawned by a supermassive black hole at the heart of a galaxy in our ‘parent universe’. This duality combines general relativity’s singularities of infinite density breaking through spacetime in ‘Cosmic Egg hatchings’ of all created universes within ‘The Conglomerate’: multiverse with no random quantum fluctuation bubble universes, no parallel worlds and no universes with different physical laws. Our Universe is 1-in-2 trillion ‘self-similar offspring’ (of our parent universe) each with the same inherited ‘DNA’.
“In the beginning”, the Planck density of the core of a SBH is a birth canal. ‘Quantum bounce SBH-SWH seed transitions’ are ‘quantum tunneling umbilical wormholes’ with energy-matter and data transformed/transferred, albeit scrambled and encoded. The ubiquitous cause-and-effect ‘circle of life cycle’: birth-life-death-transformation-rebirth explains infinite space and eternity - a necessity. Reproduction is GOD/Nature’s simple plan for greatly spreading life for everything from cells to universes.
Why does this Universe exist? It’s our playground (god + run = ground).

@@eugeniomorais7041 You don't recognize The Apocalypse/Revelation taking place? Does it need more earthquakes?

After fighting for independence from England it is ironic that the National Cathedral is in actuality the Church of England by another name.

    • @011angelfire

Yes and no. The Church of England is the mother church of The Episcopal Church, just like it is for all members of the Anglican Communion. However, TEC separated from the Church of England after the Revolution, and is no longer subject to its authority.
The cathedral is “national” in that it is located in DC and it is the seat of the Presiding Bishop. But unlike the CoE in England, TEC does not claim to be a national religion.

Shame the Episcopalians have absolutely folded and given into liberalism

@@RonaldAtkinson9 There are a few traditional holdouts left. The majority of the Episcoplalian sect endorses female clergy, abortion, homosexuality, salvation other than Jesus. That is why so many Episcopalians split and went to either independent Anglican movements or the Catholic Church

    Not Christian

Beautiful building but Darth Vader, come on? Seriously? And I wonder how many people attend. Most Episcopal churches are empty on Sunday. One of their presiding bishops said that there are other ways to salvation besides Jesus Christ. This is a Christian denomination only in name.
I can accept other liberal theologies more easily but once a church supports abortion, denies Jesus and criticizes other churches for being traditional, it's no longer a Christian Church. You may be lucky enough to belong to a traditional Episcopal parish but for the most part, your church has to be in the closet because once they come out, you might lose your building.
The Episcopal parish by my house is conservative. The pastor has been there for years and half of the parishioners are from Africa. But all it takes is for one priest to retire and the new one coming in could change things for the worse. Though at this particular church, he would have to fight the congregation.
And even if you are at a conservative Episcopal Church, part of your offering goes to a denomination who support abortion and denies that Jesus is required for salvation. This is why these churches are empty. Even putting religion aside and looking it from a business point of view, if a church says that all people are good and doesn't talk about salvation then who needs a church.
They are driving themselves out of existence. And liberal churches suffered the most during the pandemic because they were so willing to give in to the covid hysteria and go digital. The Catholic Churches in my area fought to stay open and opened up within a few weeks of the shutdown.
