Just curious, before altering did you look online to verify if the book was valuable? I picked up a stack of cheap vintage books @ goodwill intending to tear up for art. My first choice turned out to be very rare, it sparked controversy and was banned from libraries for over 50 years. It sits on my shelf now.

Maybe you should have adjusted the color of your "spell pages" to a more vintage yellow tone before printing?
That would of used a lot of ink. Staining it was more fun. Thanks for the feedback though.
