thank you so much for your videos! you've REALLY helped me study better by providing the visuals and explaining things in a better way to understand them. I love the way you associate things to better remember them!
Thank you very much for taking time out of your busy schedule making all the vedios, they are very easy to understand and straight to the point. Thanks again Winifred
You're welcome, Winifred! I'm happy to know that these are easy to follow and understand. The NBCOT journey can be an overwhelming process so I give great thought and consideration to making these videos as easy to understand as possible, so your feedback means a lot! Take good care.
Thank you so much for making all of these wonderful videos, they've helped me so much in conceptualizing and remembering so many major topics for the NBCOT! I wanted to share, another trick I noticed is all tests with "VM" (visual motor) in the name have shapes in the evaluation. BEERY VMI, PVMIA, TVMS.
That's wonderful Geno! Thank you for saying hi and leaving a comment. I love connecting with and hearing back from the community- it makes such a big difference for me because it gives me that personal touch. So thank you! I will be thinking of you and rooting for your success as you continue to prepare for your big day!!
Tomorrow's your big day, Geno!! You'll probably be feeling a range of emotions today, but I hope you'll anchor yourself in thoughts and feelings of peace, calm and confidence. Believe in yourself and know that you can conquer this exam. I'll be sending you all my positive thoughts and love your way.
can you make a video on wheelchair seating and mobility? I take my test the end of February and I can't retain how to assess for wheelchair seating. Also with splints and disorders. I love the video on nerve disorders and splint interventions to use
I do have these content areas already included in my list of videos I plan to do, but it won't be for awhile, as I'm still trying to finish up other areas first before moving on to environmental mastery or UE conditions. But they're on the list so stay tuned!
Your videos are amazing!! Thank you so much for doing this, it's extremely helpful to conceptualize all this information. I took the OTR test a couple of months ago and didn't pass by one point :( so I'm hoping that this time around, in 3 weeks to be exact, I will finally pass!! I wanted to ask, how do I access the notes from your videos? I know you said they're on your FB page but I tried looking on there and couldn't find any of the notes. Again, thank you so much for doing this, you are definitely an inspiration!!
Hi Anamaria! I'm so happy to hear you're finding these videos helpful. Thank you for being here and sharing your journey with me. If you'd like to access my files, please request to join OT Miri Facebook Group: facebook.com/groups/OTmiri/. You were probably looking for files under my FB page, which is different. Once you are in the group, you can search for my content under files and photos. When you are looking through photos, I would suggest you begin with the "Photo Albums" to get organized content by category, instead randomly scrolling through the timeline. I hope you'll find additional resources and support there to help you along your journey. See you there, Anamaria! Welcome to the community! Much love to you!
Dear Miri, Hello! Thank you for all of your amazing videos!! You mention in the beginning of this video that there are notes associated with it. I can't seem to find the notes (I'm sure I'm looking right at them and not seeing them). Can you please let me know where I can find them. Thank you so much!!
HI Johannah, these notes are on my OT Miri Study group on Facebook. You'll have to join the group to access all the additional notes and resources. Thank you for studying with me.
Hi there OT Miri! Say if someone is looking to admin motor free VP assessment tests to a 4 year old, you're saying they have the equal option to choose either the MVPT or the TVPS? One is not more appropriate than the other depending on contexts? THANKS A BUNCH, I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'D DO WITHOUT YOUR GENEROSITY :) I take my OTR exam in 30 days... AHHHH
Hi Courtney! I could not say that the therapist would have the equal option to choose either MVPT or TVPS without understanding the context and the goal for why the assessment is being administered. The format as well as the time, delivery and administration of these two assessments are different so a practitioner would always have to make their selection of assessment based on each unique individual case with the context and consideration for the practice setting, diagnosis, nature of condition, barriers and the client's stated occupational goals. Although they both can be administered across the lifespan from ages 4, the MVPT is one of the most widely used assessments for adults after head injury or stroke, especially when recertifying adult drivers. TVPS is a widely used assessment for determining visual perceptual strengths and weaknesses of children and students. Good luck preparing for your exam, Courtney!
Some of the assessments overlap in age. The Peabody, BoT, Miller over lap around age 4. I struggle knowing which to choose when a scenario is around an age that the given age could include more than one assessment. Any tips on that? Other than memorizing what each test is assessing for, which I need to do. From past exam attempts, I struggled with choosing the most appropriate assessment but got tripped up on the age ranges.
Knowing the age ranges certainly helps in selecting the most appropriate assessment, but beyond that, it really helped me to understand the purpose of the assessment and the kind of information that the assessment would yield. I know it can be overwhelming and confusing because of the age overlap, but you'll get it once you can conceptualize and understand the purpose of the assessment and how it's used to identify a child's strengths, weaknesses and/or functional performance.
Hi Syreete, welcome to the community. If you've just joined the FB group, you're probably still getting oriented. I'd like to encourage you to go to the photos and click on Photo Albums. There you will find categories based on what you're looking for, such as Splints, SCI, Images from TH-cam, etc. The supplemental notes are in a PDF form under "Files."
thank you so much for your videos! you've REALLY helped me study better by providing the visuals and explaining things in a better way to understand them. I love the way you associate things to better remember them!

Hey Miri do you do private tutoring?
Hi Alex, I currently do not offer private tutoring, but I do have a FB group (OT Miri) where I offer additional support and content.
Hi how can I find the notes for your videos on your Facebook page?
