Although many praise Cockrum and Byrne on this run, PMS made such an impact in such short time along with BWS and both works involved Storm which are my favorite stories.
Issue 173 was my first issue of X-Men so I'm always excited when that cover is selected for a collected edition! I never thought of Rogue as chasing Wolverine but rather following him. Paul Smith, along with John Byrne, are my favorite X-Men artists so I'm happy to pick this up. I love the size of these editions, and it was highlighted in this video seeing how close the pages come to the camera, almost a 3D effect!
9:14 issue 173, that´s my first X-men book ever, but it was called "La Patrulla X" because it was published in spanish by the late Forum. I still have it. What a tremendous book, from that moment on I couldn´t stop.
Seeing this makes me really hope that we get a complete collection of Paul Smith & James Robinson's Leave It To Chance someday. That's a terrific book by legendary creators that I've only read about half of, it's criminal that the whole thing has never been collected in either trade or hc.
It's still a beautiful book, but I hate the fact that it does not contain complete issues. These were previously called "Artifact Editions" (incomplete issues) rather than "Artist's Editions" (complete issues). Now you need to be sure you know what you are getting given that everything falls under "Artist Edition". I can only assume that the "Artifact Editions" did not sell as well and the name change is simply a marketing decision.
Paul smith is one of the greatest X-Men artist ever. Up there with Byrne I’d love if they did a gallery edition of Paul Smith X-Men
Paul Smith 🐐 Always wish his run was longer, but that just makes me appreciate what we got from him even more.
I was collecting these off the rack at my comic shop back when they were new. Great book. I am grateful for the review.
This looks fantastic!!!
My absolute favorite X-Men artist. There have been many great ones, but I wish Paul Smith could have drawn at least a few dozen more issues.
My absolute favorite X-MEN artist.

I'd love to have this one. I don't own any of these Artists Editions yet mainly because of the high price...but they are beautiful!

I wish Paul Smith drew more comics than he did.

I want this
Inking so clean!
GODAM I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE!
When I think X-Men I think Paul Smith. This is my intro to the series. 166 was my first issue.
I had hope for much more of 170 to be included, but I can't wait to pick this up.
Rogue's hairdo is great there, unlike the thing that Stan Lee's nephew came up with years later. 🤣🤣🤣
Ant wait to get this one thanks for the reminder to order Omar!! A little late Xmas present to myself 😂
5:25 Only PMS could get that type of reaction to Moira MacTaggert 😂😂😂
That is a nice looking book.
Perfect relwase date. Im busy January 6 each year.
Polishing my pitchfork during this video for that day.
