Music video by Nirvana performing The Money Will Roll Right In. (C) 2009 Geffen Records
I swear, watching Nirvana performances feel so cinematic, the song has such a dark undertone to the realism of fame, he sounds so dead but it makes it that much more understandable. Thank you Fang for this song.
Yeah I think the same, when I watched "Montage of Heck" the concerts didn't feel like concerts but actors playing songs
and the money will roll right in....
You realize this song is ironic right? And Kurt looks like he’s having fun, sarcastic. You have issues with depression obviously.
@@ExcitedAnacondaSnake-hg8ec why are you so rude? I’ve seen many of your comments around nirvana videos. Get a life dude, you aren’t kind to people.
This particular performance was shot on film at 24 fps, which for the better part of history has been a standard for cinema! That would make sense for sure!
I swear Nirvana just gets more and more relevant as time goes by... 10/10!!♥
Cobain was so awesome for covering songs from lesser-known acts that inspired him. He truly made the songs his, too. Their version of D-7 is the one of the most electrifying performances I've ever seen...
Fang was lesser known, The Wipers were somewhat bigger
Waite, D -7 is not originaly a nirvana song? I really though it was. Guess i know nothing
Man that riff is fantastic, and Kurts slurring speech actually works quite well here
Yeah it's like Sliver in that aspect of the derpy/drunk vocals lol
Nicholas H And its an easy intro to learn. If u have a guitar, its like 3 min and you know it lol
What opening riff ? yOu mean the rigff of the entire song save for some chord progression here or there, probably chorus , fuck yeah ... it´s the H Nicholas , it´s the H vibe !
Too bad he didn't write it it's a Fang song.
He had the rare ability to scream on pitch.
This guy had that spark and he spoke to my generation. I was there in 1992 right there with the tapes and cds and now 30ish years later still on it. Man.
Fuck yeah dude. Right there with you!
I missed this gig, didn’t get to reading until 94’
My pals who saw this gig say to this day it was the best gig they witnessed, right time, right band, right place
I purchased a boxed set in 1994 that had this concert on it. I've been asked multiple times through the years if I wanted to sell it. Glad I kept it, as it put the official boxed set to shame.
How the fuck did they only make 3 albums, and I've been listening for 10 years, and still finding badass songs by them I've never heard before
Maybe because this isn't their song? You probably thought they wrote The Man Who Sold the World as well, didn't you...
They made at least 5 off the top of my head
@@perro7183 albums?? bruh
@@channelthechannel I think that someone not knowing who Fang or Mudhoney are is a little different than someone not knowing who David Bowie is
@@deadflag7030 Yet there are still tons of people who don't know that Bowie wrote The Man Who Sold the World.
Nirvana covers are the best. That Strat has a killer tone too.
It’s a Fernandes strat copy
damn don’t it?!
This is what I loved about Nirvana. Playing cover songs from bands that they are suggesting we go check out. As Kurt once said, "theres a thousand bands better then us"
Amazingly great band. As for the technique, I must say as someone who plays guitar and sings himself, I find Kurt one of the hardest rock stars to keep up with. He was a magician on guitar and vocals, and as a song writer, he was a true genius.
Dude im pretty experienced and this song for some reason is just about impossible for me to sing and play (the verse atleast) the timing is weird......Kurt makes it look effortless of course
@@mattamongtheashes1206 Yeah, I was playing it with my band, I mean I was playing it okay, but wasnt perfectly on time, but still thats kind of the point
He wasn't a good guitarist tbh, he couldn't even nail the simple solo
@@mattamongtheashes1206 Singing over the riffs for Come as you are, All apologies, and the chorus of Blew are damn near impossible. I don´t know how he did it.
@Matt Among the ashes when u do something over and over again it comes like second nature. He was a perfectionist but he just makes everything look easy. 🐐
I've seen Mudhoney twice: The last time they played this song, WOW what a riff, what a song! Nirvana's version is great too, the perfect tone of voice for those lyrics!
@Vin S cheers! I honestly didn't know that. Thanks!
Originally was performed by a band named FANG.
Fang wrote this song lol, both Mudhoney and Nirvana are just imitators of real punk
Nice. Mudhoney area great band.
Reading 92 is my fav show. Sound desk did a great job, mix is perfect. The whole band seem totally into it Kurt jumping around a stage screaming and making an absolute racket with his guitar, i think thats all he ever wanted to do, he seemed like he was having so much fun. What a band. RIP Kurt. The lyrics describe Kurts life but he never ever lost his humanity
I love his iconic hospital gown. Just his tired of everything state of mind.
American Psycho Keyser Soze Tyler Durden it was actually in reference to the reports of Kurt not being well enough to perform at Reading 1992.
I like his iconic liver and his iconic shoelaces and his iconic guitar pick and his iconic earlobe and his iconic microphone and his iconic icon and his iconic teeth.
@@gleechharnog1117 wtf
@@ancyber6876 I like your iconic wtf.
Gleech Harnog lol
Awesome cover of Fang. Love the grunge go-go dancer milling around in the background and Kurt's hospital gown stage get-up.
Tony the Dancer
@@milesprowr it seemed cool at first in late 90s when i had a live vid of em but after awhile it gets old seeing him always there
This is not Fang it’s Mudhoney
Never knew Fang had this much of an impact for mudhoney, metallica and nirvana to cover this song
Aren't they more famous because their singer killed people. They were an OK band but negative publicity is still publicity
Krists vocals are awesome
So true
+Logan Edwards he looks like he's having so much fun
They all had fun! Look at Dave smiling behind the drums! It was that magical time before things started to turn to shit. They also weren't on a tour, they weren't tired as hell.
Things had definitely started to turn to shit, but they weren't all the way there yet and the band were proving their true power and impact by the way they played this whole devastating performance .. greatest show they ever played in my opinion :) NIRVANA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
krist has no vocals he doesnt know hes doin when he opens his mouth lol. Nirvana is my all time favorite band but krist is no where on my list of good musicians.
Krist on the backing vocals... what a RARE moment! (^__^)
Local Gambler He sure sounded good, too.
@@hewgrebe4771 Yes, he did...
Yeah, it sounded OK too, I assumed for years (basically up until now) that his singing intro for Territorial Pissings accurately represented his singing skills, but apparently I was wrong.
Oh yeah! Didn’t notice that!
I think Krist actually can sing but he just liked to goof off a lot during the Nirvana days. He can play guitar and accordion pretty well too as demonstrated in the Unplugged show.
Krist doing a harmony and nailing it!
Krist is so into this one I love it
Pure rock and roll nirvana here - the power and groove of a great power trio
Simple song but such great sound and style. You can get into the groove of the any time. I love it. Talent that comes once in a lifetime. We miss you Kurt. Keep rocking the heavens up above.
Nirvana always brings something to the songs they cover, something special I swear, a whole new meaning idk
This is so rad - Fang will always be very proud of this. The 3 of them on stage are in the zone, like they were just playing for themselves; Krist is smiling throughout the song. Nirvana forever
Fang forever... They're still playing!
fang is a right wing band… good music but some of their songs are very fcked
@@EraZinto fang is not a right wing band whatsoever
@@EraZinto what does politics have to do with music
Awesome cover by one of the greatest bands that existed 👏
This whole show still blow's the effing doors off of anything else out there even now. They were fantastic.
Probably my favorite concert ever
idk nothing can beat the paramount imo
@@perryeuan2748 I do love the paramount show but the setlist at reading absolutely demolishes paramounts. If Kurt put in as much energy into this show as he did at the paramount it would be THE perfect nirvana live show.
There aren't any guitars in music today
This song has the look, feel and momentum of a big, heavy, stinking freight train pounding through the night. Grunge at it's filthy best. What a sound!
This is what I would call “Gutter Rock” 😋
Best ❤
Live music was such a different experience back then. Not so polished and produced, but the energy was amazing.
2:07 and the flying drumstick lol fucking great song version tho
hahahah yeah i thought i was the only one who noticed
It split and he threw it away.
that drumstick wscaped an abusive relationsip🤣🤣
Best encore set EVER by any band that I've seen. It is not even close in my opinion.
You need to see more bands
@@NotAnAstronaut2k This version of this legendary concert does not have it all such as the end with Cobain playing the American anthem with a destroyed guitar. Anyway, have seen many many bands over the decades. This was the best encore ever imo!
@@roydenbellman atleast ur stating as ur opinion
what a legendary concert...
You can tell Dave had a greaaat time playing this one.
ONE OF THE BEST CONCERTS EVER RECORDED!!..ROCK IN PEACE KURT-🙏
0:36 Kris misses the tone on a chorus, and stop for a second and Dave is laughs. Kurt is acting like everything is ok :)
2:07 Dave Grohl drops drum stick
Lol I seen that to but it was a good save
Agreed! Haha
nope. hes rolling the stick. its a "skill"
+SkyTeX MC Well thanks for stating the obvious about stick rolling being a skill. But he does drop his drum stick. You can even hear a change in the drumming while he picks up the drum stick.
It broke and he threw it. It split down the middle.
I just love it when Dave’s drums kick in. Listen to that punch! 0:12
I love this Live version of this song
Nirvana ❤️ desde niño hasta ahora que tengo 40 años los escucho y sigo. Que grande fuiste nirvana.
The power and emotion is fing amazing
Probably played this 100x
RIP Kurt
Kharkov, Ukraine, 20.08.2021 - we say yeah!!! What a great song!!! Thanks, Kurt!
Ive listen to many many many bands. Nirvana is the only one I have to keep going back to. Favorite band!
nirvana can turn any simple riff into a masterpiece.
0:55 when he said "I'll be rich as shit" you can hear it echo, I just think that parts amazing because.. Well you gotta admit he WAS rich as shit!
Best rock show ever easily. Encore covers outstanding!
2:07 That drumstick escaped from an abusive relationship.
3dgun bang! “Now, I am free! Never to be beaten again!” Funny.
3dgun well deserved
Strewn drum stick 🥁
not kurt
Lol
mudhoney didn't write this song. They covered it. Fang wrote it
Chris wrote this song
I just messaged the singer here is what Sammy Town the singer said... "Chris Wilson wrote the music and Tom wrote most of the lyrics. I reworded some of it when I joined the band"
Bnbme Inc. Where you from ?
Mendocino the town! Bailed on Oakland 4 years ago to live in the woods.
Mudhoney just perfected it .
This is one of my favourite Nirvana songs.
It's a cover (Fang)
Very simple riff but it sounds so fking cool and badass.
PK and the KiD Except for his bit of bad lyrics, could be a kids song.
Punk riffs were never complicated in the early 90s. They were so fucking contagious though.
@@bellabear653 They were fucking great
@@bellabear653 this is not a 90s song, it’s an 80s song
@@bellabear653 this is a fang song from the early 80s sighs.. these nirvana fans..
I always wondered what exactly Kurt was going for with his vocal in this one...Till I heard the original and realised, he really nailed it!!
2:07 come on dave get your shit together!!
looks more like he threw it ? prob was broke.
I could listen to that intro drum fill a million times. The feel is so right. Blat-doon, blat-doon.
with out the countless punk and Hardcore bands like Fang that tirelessly worked through the 80's building the scene without hardly any recognition and they wonder how Nirvana just appeared out of nowhere? At least Nirvana pointed to them...
Th
Fuck Yeah FANG! The original band is also worth a listen to.
Not only are Krist's vocals impressive, he also looks really cool while singing.
I was surprised nobody noticed he was on backing vocals, when I was listening on spotify I figured it was probably grohl. I thought Krist only sung for an intro of Territorial Pissings
I love you and miss you Kurt. I know you'd want everyone to have access to your music not just people with money.
Man, I love this, love the live version of this where he's playing guitar with mudhoney too, classic
I have just found this and wow
this is 1 of my favorite songs from nirvana 😁 sit and grin*!☆☆☆
This is a Fang Song Cover ;)
Simply the best band ever! I'dd kill just to go back in time and go to one concert.
I love how Dave and Krist really enjoyed performing this cover xd
The quality is incredible!
Great covers from Nirvana. Thanks.
One of the few bands that sound better live than recorded.
They didn't record this song lol
i entirely agree, i saw somewhere that someone said that nirvana sucked live and i was blown away
1 of my favorite songs 🖤✌
They're nearly off the rails in this performance, (Krist's chaoticly angelic backing vocals, Kurt's general being and state during this show, and Dave's brutality -even for him, on the drums) But they keep it together somehow and turn it into one of the wildest and most amazing performances of all time.
For all those debating, I love Nirvana AND the Beatles. Both had new sounds that no one had ever heard before. Because they were so new and different and insanely awesome, they're incomparable. No debate.
I've only seen this recently and I'm stunned.
Krist Novoselic on backing vocals??!!!
WHAT!!?
kurt is singing it with sarcasm and indifference, dave and krist are loving life and being rockstars! thats the difference in the band right there, kurt couldn't even enjoy the success when he got what he wanted. and yes he wanted it
I guess you don't understand what this sounds means ... thats why Krist and Dave are smiling the whole time playing this at one of the biggest festivals in the world for an audience of 60,000 people. If you pay attention the lyrics of the song and Nirvana position at that time, you understand. Punk as fuck
Krist had to double check to see what key Kurt was playing in @ 0:05
Wow. Gotta appreciate Krist's backing vocals
"and I'll just sit and grin... the money will roll right in"
I lament the fact that I will never see Nirvana live for myself :(
Old man here, they were playing 20 min away, and b/c of all the radio play I was like, nah. I'll save my money for Lollapalooza 1993. 19 and full of myself. Can I talk to Marty McFly???
Evan Fiore who are you telling! I wish I could have seen them 89-91 prime nirvana
Born in 2000. Would’ve given anything to have been given the chance to see him in concert. 90’s Rock is my shiiiiit.
I thought it was I’m just sitting grand The money will roll right in.
Lament is a good word. There is sometimes a bitterness that comes with listening to dead artists, with thinking of what could've been and all. The music never died tho
@trwerojo His name was Tony Hodgkinson and he was the drummer for a band called Bivouac. In a really cool move, Dave can be seen wearing a Bivouac t-shirt during the first bunch of songs in this (Reading '92) concert.
Tou viciado nessa música! Amooo Nirvana!❤
Nirvana forever
Definitely
2:05 Krist actually singing a low harmony that fits super well
1:22 take that Steve Vai 😎
The money will roll right in !!!thank u nirvana fan for life 😎
👍
me eriza la piel siempre que veo este video. :·3
Krist is on backing vocals here? That’s awesome! We never really saw that during Nirvana’s career besides Munich ‘94 and Kapu ‘89
I love nirvana
I love nirvana
1:02 my favorite part
Jessus sentään
Nirvana still thriving as is obvious by comments nearly 20 years later, ACES.
right great call
Rob Pitashe almost 30 cause they started in 87
Fang is great...got to see them at Tony V's when bro got out of prison.
Destroy the handicapped is a masterpiece
still a 10/10 song,
In like 1998 I bought a bootleg CD of this show for like $60 which was a lot more then and now it’s on TH-cam for free. Lol. Probably the funniest part of the bootlegs we’re sold at a chain record store.
1:28 - lower-right corner, you can see one of the (or a) roadie..... and if I'm not mistaken, that particular one actually played second guitar with Nirvana for a couple of 1993 shows, before they got Pat Smear in the band. Man I know way too much about this band hahaha.
BigHead2615 that's big john Duncan. he was nirvana guitar tech. watch scentless apprentice live in Rio when kurt go's crazy. he pulls kurt back up on the platform so he can finish the song.
Ken Cranston think I will do that in just a few moments. Thanks.
What a great song ... man, I miss the 90s sometimes ... live Nirvana is sure hard to beat 👺
dave looks so happy :3
Andres Felipe I know. Does he ever stop smiling for this song? I think not.
maybe he love this song
0:56 Krist's mind just blown away..
1:45 - I've seen this a million times and never noticed Kurt messed up here, that's weird.
?
Beautiful ❤
I like when Kris smiles during Kurt's very rough solo. Hilarious!
They were obviously having so much fun with this...and the feels rolled right in.
Haven't heard this song before. Comments say it's a cover and sounds soo badass
🔥🔥
Talk To Me is a song that should have been made a single, this is a pretty fucking cool song...
Renounced Equation that is what I thought, too. Now, the only place you see it is an incomplete video on the boxed set. I used to own it on a bootleg C.D. where you hear some low “Ooh... Oohs...” on a microphone then they are off into it. That is such a happy sounding song, too. Come, on guys, please, another disc or maybe another boxed set from Dave, Pat, and Krist? That would be awesome. 😵
Absolutely love this EPIC cover!!!
This show was fkn epic
I was today years old when I heard this song for the first time. It's a banger that should have received radio play.
He had a gift, no matter how much his guitar screeched, whether intentional or not, and no matter how he sang, it just worked and sounded good, no one else has that ability before/since.
Nirvana está eternizado no Brasil ❤
isso é fato!!!
