She had so many talents. Not only was she very bright, she was multi-talented. Painting, cooking, sewing, plumbing, upholstery, communication, shopping, freezing....I could go on and on. She shared many aspects of her life and the many things she was involved in with all of us, as you are doing, too. She was so like my own mother, supreme problem solver.
Love watching Mrs Phyllis and Mr Bucky. Glad these videos are still up. Thanks to Steven keeping his mom's memories alive and all for wonderful recipes.
Steven I really enjoy watching your mother's channel. From her cooking skills her parenting and how she encouraged you and your siblings to read books. And I also enjoy watching Mr Bucky when he is reading scripture from the Bible. I will continue to watch I'm sure others will too. And you have also brought a lot to this channel as well with your cooking traveling and taking us all along with you. You truly have some wonderful children yourself. And I also like watching your son making that delicious prime rib and that sourdough bread. I can see that you are passing all the wonderful qualities that your mom gave you . I can see you are passing them to your children. God bless you and your family always and forever. 🙏🙏
Sure miss Miss Phyllis, Mr Bucky and the poodles. ❤️. How many times do I come back to these old recipes of yours. And I love to see Mr Bucky and the little poodles too. Esp Steely. He captured my heart!
Great idea for a quick dessert! Mr. Bucky made me smile. His reaction to your apple pie was heartwarming, and the reason we make these desserts for our men.
Oh Phyllis, I wanted to say that I made a pie as you instructed but I used some frozen blueberries I had in the freezer from pickings at the Blue Berry Farm last year, I added the sugar, a bit of water, some cinnamon , a bit of lemon juice. It turned out wonderful, the elderly man I gave it to logs the water level for us people who lives on the river & warns us when the river will be rising. I love to bake & cook, but must share the goods with my neighbors, I always cooked for 5-6 ppl and now it's just myself so I share my bounty. Thank you for making an old guy very happy!
This is a great idea for unexpected company. I could pop one of those in the oven while making a pot of coffee and my guest will think I am amazing. Thank you Miss Phyllis. Much love to you.
Phyllis, (love that name reminds me of my aunt) not sure why anyone would say not to seal edges using the fork, I've used it for years and it works well. So, nice seeing the hubby. You both are the best. Just love your channel. Pray you both stay strong and happy. Take care.
Oh Mrs Phyllis I do enjoy watching your videos. I do! And yes I laughed because busy women after a stressful day do everything to pleased the people we love. It was flawless!🤗
You are a very blessed woman. I hope I will be half as good a cook someday! Thank you for sharing with us. Mr. Bucky makes me smile. He really loves you and knows he has a good thing! 💕
I'm telling you all this wonder woman is the queen of pies. I have never seen anyone make so many different pies, and the ham, cheese and cabbage one is awesome or shall I say awe-yum.
My favorite online family!!! Love the shortcut for the apple pie. Steely and Sunny with Mr Bucky while he enjoys the dessert. Lovely dogs! Thanks a lot for all your videos!!!
Great idea Phyllis 💗💗💗 I've been teaching my 10 year old Grand Daughter to bake and she loves it !!!!!! Next time she spends the night I'll supervise while she makes one of these pies 💗💗💗
I really enjoy watching your videos. They are relaxing and contain good information. I always learn something new. I can’t possibly understand how someone can give a thumbs down to your videos, unless they are a vegan troll who goes around “thumbing down” anything on TH-cam containing an animal product regardless of whether the video is good or not. Love your recipes and manner! My husband and I eat similarly and watch our portions. All of our blood labs, blood pressure, etc are within normal limits. Portion control is the factor, not the omission of fats or animal products. Keep up the wonderful videos Phyllis and Mr. Bucky. ❤️
FourOaksLiving WI Probably someone with a cooking channel that has less than 100 subscribers, lol... Recipes are nice, but you also need an appealing personality. 🍴
I just love listening to Phyllis-and her gentle ways of speaking with Mr. Bucky. I do miss her presence very much…I turn to these older videos for both the great recipes, and for the peaceful feeling they invoke. I’m so glad, so very glad, this channel still is available. I wish there were a compilation cookbook!!
I must commend you on keeping it real. You had a tough day in the kitchen. Struggling with the crust, getting the filling out of the gelatinous liquid and then you dropped a piece. Poor dear. LOL I do love how you keep all that in there and don't edit it out. We all have days like this. Love your channel.
This looks good and easy to make. You would have made a great teacher. You are so thorough and patient when showing us how to cook. I laughed out loud when you asked Mr Bucky if all the desserts were his favorite. I was thinking the same thing when you said that. He is such is sweetie. Thank you Phyllis for sharing your videos with us. Much love to you both 💕
RIP, Miss Phyllis. I made this today. I followed your video. I used peach pie filling. It came out fabulously. Your son is carrying on and doing a great job.
Mr. Bucky, Bless his heart, loves his wife's cooking. Such a heart warming sight. God bless you two. I just get so excited to see a new video alert from you. Your Phyllis Fans will be Looking forward to the next one. 💕💝💕
i know Im randomly asking but does someone know of a method to log back into an instagram account..? I was stupid forgot my account password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me!
@Louie Jayce thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Ms. Phyllis, you come up with some of the best home cooking recipes...like this one!! Love your cooking videos, the updates on the dogs and the heart warming story of the kittens! It's so great to see Mr Bucky....hoping to hear more of his entertaining stories soon!! Thank you for your hard work making these videos and for sharing your life with us!! Blessings to you both!!
These recipes are so perfect. I don't work anymore, but need quick and easy because I'm sick. Also perfect for two "normal" appetites. When I cooked for my late husband, I cooked for a gentle giant. Thank you Miz Phyllis
I just recently found these videos, because they were in my suggested videos. I had watched several before I discovered that Mr. Bucky had passed and that Mrs. Stokes was ill. I was so saddened to then hear of her passing, as well. They seem like genuinely good people. My condolences to the family of both Mr and Mrs Stokes.
Miss not having her on this earth. Blessings to her family. I love this idea and it’s just what I needed and the reason I liked her so much. She always had different ideas for same foods. I made this but used fresh apples that needed to be eaten. Wonderful ❤️
Such a lovely couple and it seems like he was just a happy man. I so love people that are down to earth and so easy to please. May they both rest in peace. I'm sure this world misses them both. God bless!!
I'm disabled with chronic Lupus and I am always looking for recipes that don't always take all-day to prepare to serve to my family. I always have some kind of a dessert with our dinner and this seemed like it would be great to make and serve. TFS!
Ohhhh Mr Bucky your demeanour and gentle nature, values and even your look without sounding too weird guys !! absolutely reminded me of my late father he soooo loved his meals too 😀 this brought a tear to my eye love you guys xxx god bless xx
I have a can opener just like your's Phyllis...I found mine on Zulily...I just love it, because of the fact that it just lifts the top right off the can!!! I love nutmeg too!! I do the same thing, when I make my pies...always dip the fork back in the flour to make sure it doesn't stick to the crust and pull it apart!! I would never have thought to make an apple pie like this though...I learned something else new today!! I just love it...always learning something new from you, Phyllis!! Thank you so much for your time in making this video and sharing it with us!! Mr. Bucky sure gets spoiled from you and I think that is so sweet!! Mr. Bucky is so cute how he just loves everything you make too!!!
Phyllis, I just love watching you! What you see is what you get, otherwise you are the real thing! I love the valuable information and good conversation as well. My mother worked and when she cooked she was usually in a hurry and not so much in a teaching mood, lol I wish I had written down her recipes as she had them in her head! God Bless you and Mr Bucky, of course the fur babies! Please do not stop teaching us and cooking for us. You are teaching this old dog some new tricks and making me want to get back in the kitchen! Thank you so much..
Apple pie from Miss Phyllis? Yes please!! I only wish we had smell-a-vision. Mr Bucky is one lucky guy. You are both just so awesome, thank you for sharing :)
Phyllis, I really enjoy your cooking channel. I can tell you have a passion for cooking. These videos bring back so many of my childhood memories growing up in North Carolina. Although I consider myself a good cook, I'm learning from you to be a better cook. Thank you so much and many blessings to you and your family.
These quick recipes are not only good for ppl that work, but also college students. My daughter had a beautiful large kitchen in her dorm rooms and she loved cooking. Loved her crockpot too, lol. She graduated last May but still occasionally helps in the kitchen when not at work. I make a lot of hand pies. When they come out, I brush them with a light sugar icing. When dry they resemble the Hostess fruit pies.
@Phyllis: The crack in the back isn't a big deal. The juice that leaked wasn't much & it candied. That's the best homemade kind of pie! Whoever said dipping a fork into flour & crimping the edges wasn't necessary doesn't know a thing about baking a pie. Women have made their homemade pies with that technique since the pie inception into the home. That's how my great-great and great grandmothers made them and on down the line to me today. However people should always try their own technique in the kitchen. After all that's what makes the fare at home oh so gooood.Thank you for showing your way to a shortcut homemade apple pie. Really enjoyed your video. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Ms Phyllis! The OXO can opener is the best I've ever used. I like the no sharp edges & no contents from opening the can spilling over the lid. Great idea for a quick apple pie! Good to see Mr Bucky, Steely & Sunny in this video, too. Thanks for another video and for sharing this idea for a quick dessert!
That com stock pie filling is great. I bought a rump roast yesterday and followed your recipe yummm miss Phyllis, you should really write a recipe book, with your wonderful recipes !!

I have quickly rinsed canned pie filling to separate the fruit from the sugary sauce just a little. a comes out perfect, is not wet and a bit more palatable than all the heavy starch filling. But with this she could take it on a visit and they could both have a piece on two visits with no waste at home. Edit: Mother always has a good piece of sharp cheddar with her piece of apple pie but Dad likes ice cream.
I just bought some of those apples! Thank you for sharing your recipe. I always smile when I watch one of your videos. Mr. Bucky sure loves your cooking!

Phyllis,
I really enjoy your cooking channel. I can tell you have a passion for cooking. These videos bring back so many of my childhood memories growing up in North Carolina. Although I consider myself a good cook, I'm learning from you to be a better cook. Thank you so much and many blessings to you and your family.
Will miss her !! Love her cooking.
I love your channel, my nephews love your brownie recipe!
You are a great wife and cook!

I wish there was a love button on this thing!! I just love watching your videos!!
I have quickly rinsed canned pie filling to separate the fruit from the sugary sauce just a little. a comes out perfect, is not wet and a bit more palatable than all the heavy starch filling. Also I pinch thumb to point finger around the half shell pie. It stays closed, doesn't leak, &is thicker so less darkened edge and has that crust texture we all love with the vanilla ice cream. I am your age and remember these time saving treats. My husband loves them too! Celebrated 50 years last week!
Congratulations on 50 years of marriage - wonderful. It's a real milestone for both of you, and may you have many more years together.
So glad Mr. Bucky liked it! You are such a good wife Phyllis.

Edit: Mother always has a good piece of sharp cheddar with her piece of apple pie but Dad likes ice cream.
