Watching this with much interest as well as the Benton Homestead channel, as I like the idea of staying somewhere along the route rather than at either end and just doing some leisurely short day rides rather than attempt the whole route at once.
Staying along the way is really the best way, however, just be careful about the rental and deposit fee, and where you will return the bike. If you rent your bike from Onomichi and return it at Imabari, then you will forgo your deposit fee. Also e-bikes can be tricky, for example, if you will receive a charger or not and where you have to return the ebikes, it all depends on where you rent them from. Make sure you check and confirm everything. Have fun!
@@MikeMatsuno I am thinking of a more leisurely stay, and perhaps buying a second hand bicycle and just donating it to the guest house at the end of my stay
Yes, it is a larger smaller city, people were very kind and nice there. A blend of the larger cities and smaller cities like Imabari/Onomichi. Matsuyama is off the main silk road route of Japan, but one of my favorite places to see "real Japan."
Hello Mike, I will be in Imabari in a couple of days. Can you tell me where to find those Toso maps locally? I wasn’t able to get any on Amazon before I arrived. Thanks.
Another amazing video ! Thank you Mike
Mike! Great....have been waiting for this....
Hmmmmm..... Me thinks this is going to be a Part II, III, IV or more. I hope so, anyway.
Working on Part II at this very moment. 😁

That is a great idea! I have done that before when working on business trips for extended periods of time.@@CB-sx8xh
Have you ever been to Matsuyama? If yes, how were the people there?

@@MikeMatsuno Thank you. I just went there and you described it as it is. Do you have any other recommendations in Japan?
