    Many thanks for the shout-out and the kind words, Kelan 🙏
    Outstanding comparison video since you have all versions from 4 decades of reformulations 👏
    Everyone raves about Eau Sauvage, but AEPH is my favourite of the non-dirty citrus aromatics tied with ADP Colonia. I hear they discontinued AEPH outright now 😢

    I just discovered Armani Pour Homme. Purchased an older formulation as several reviewers said that there was a definite difference and that the new formulation didn't do the fragrance justice. Love the scent. Pure class and totally posh. It may not be everyone's style as it's very citrus forward, but I don't know how anyone could "dislike" the fragrance. Terrific review.

      It’s such a classy Italian masculine masterpiece of a scent I love the stuff and I’m so happy I have. I’d trade other rare bottles for more of it since I know I’d wear it a lot

    Just picked up two vintage bottles (black bottom) for £30 / 30ml on vacation in Malta 🇲🇹. Love the channel as always and have to say thank you for the best cheapie recommendation ever in Sergio Tacchini EDT in a previous video.

    I love this series. Very helpful for those looking to hunt down vintages. Personally, I love the black and gold of the vintage bottles too. Kind of intimidating if I'm honest, which gives it that appeal. Released the same year as Tuscany I think, along with Lacoste and Davidoff. '84 not the greatest year for releases, but I'm a fan of those at least.

    • @ScentsOfSouthJersey
      @ScentsOfSouthJersey  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s funny you mention Tuscany, my dad had a bottle of that too and the sprayer looked just like the vintage Armani black one

    • @justaddlight
      @justaddlight ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ScentsOfSouthJersey Yup, you mentioned it in the vid. I kinda like that black crimped sprayer look. Gives the bottle more character. I had a clone of A*Men with that same atomizer that I used to layer with like crazy and it was just so satisfying to spray. But sometimes the old things are a good reminder of the days when we had to work hard for what we had. Made the small stuff a bit less significant so we could focus on our lives ahead. ☺

    Yes!! Finally someone is giving Armani Pour Homme some love and I couldn't be happier! I too have the vintage bottle (3/4 full and using it sparingly) as well as the latest one and you absolutely nailed it when describing the two! While the latest version is still fantastic, the vintage bottle has more depth and character and it simply gives off that classic men's scent! I wore the original back in the mid-late 80's (signature scent) and I'm still wearing it today because it's that fantastic! Thanks for the great review/comparision!

    This scent captivated me, and nothing else is really like it - sophisticated, but simple , elegant, classy, timeless, beautiful. Armani ph is a legend . Haven’t tried the new stuff - I have a miniature (89% vol) and a 50ml apres rasage which is nearly empty .. of the precious juice . enjoy your content etc , regards

    Not only did I wear Armani Eau Pour Homme back in the mid 1980's, but the CPA firm I worked for at the time handled the top Italy based companies of the day that had offices in NYC. I spent about a month each year up in the offices of Giorgio Armani and about 2 1/2 months of the year in the 5th Avenue offices of Ferragamo.

    • @ScentsOfSouthJersey
      @ScentsOfSouthJersey  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @shave-a-thon3415
      @shave-a-thon3415 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ScentsOfSouthJersey It was! One of my favorite days on the job was when the men's ready to wear VP for Armani came into our room at Armani and asked if anyone was a size 38. I was much thinner in my 20's and closer to a size 37 at the time but within 15 minutes, I found myself modeling men's suits for the next hour or two for buyers from Saks, Bloomingdales and other department stores!
      Back then, neither Armani nor Ferragamo had many fragrances in their line for men. I also handled Perugina candy when they were still owned by the Buitoni family. Around the holidays we would get a great discount from them. Their Gianduja Hazelnut chocolates and panettone were delicious!
      Other clients the firm had were Ermenegildo Zegna and Pirelli Tires.

      @shave-a-thon3415 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DarthJabba504 I'm surprised I didn't mention that! Thanks for reminding me. The bookkeepers and accounting staff at Armani looked like they were pulled out of a central casting office for actresses!
      When the elevator door opened up on their floor, you were greeted by piped in music and mirrors all over the place.
      Here's another good one from back in the mid 1980's. I had a client on 5th Ave. Whenever I would go in the building, the elevator would open up on a certain floor and an attractive woman in her 30's would walk on. I was always dressed sharply for business and wore cologne. I sensed she acknowledged my presence. It wasn't until about 15 years ago that I realized that woman was a young Carolina Herrera! Her business address was in that building!

    Great Job! LOVE this fragrance! Yes the opening is somewhat sharp (lemon) but I don't mind it because it will lead into one of the most beautiful Men's (not female) luxury soap scents. Pure Class and will not offend anyone at all. Have to say enjoy this one in particular. Just a side note, from beginning to end this is a well made fragrance and I do not smell overtly synthetic notes (but there may be some) and this one "finishes" smoothly, in other words I do not detect that typical "cologney" smell or synthetic smell when fragrance is fading, like a lot of lesser quality fragrances (any ZARA cologne is a good example and if you've smelled them, you'll know what I mean). Also, don't know what to wear? This fragrance is an super no brainer, easy dumb reach.

    I’m Dominican but my Italian uncle back around 99’ when I was in my early teens, I remember asking him what’s that cologne! It was such a signature scent. And he put me on and gave me his bottle. Shit after that it was gave over. I hate that I gotta pay above 100 lol but definitely signature smell. I wanted to watch this clip to see the difference between the original and the new.

    I’m checking out the date of the video… I have been searching for this fragrance for the past two years. Has the original been re-released?
    I know it was discontinued. After some research, there was One ingredient featured in the notes which was banned in some countries due to skin irritation.
    I think it was Oak Moss.
    Anyhow, the only bottles I can find, seem to be vintage and uber chère 😢

    Another disappointment for me personally. LOVED the original, you are spot on, such a fantastic old school blend. Went through a couple bottles back in the day, very classy. The new formulation has a vile note of some kind in the background, like a sweaty armpit, just couldn’t get past it. May just have to plunk down some dough for an original bottle. 👍🏻

      The vintage versions regardless of it being cosmair or luxury products smell so amazing the new version doesn’t come close. It’s unfortunate that the new version isn’t that great because it’s always a plus when the current version still holds up but definitely not in this case
