Why won't my Janome let me change from a straight stitch to any other stitch? It has an S after the 01 number. I can't find what that means in the instruction manual.

Thank you for the video! I've had my machine since covid started and was unable to get in to the shop to learn on it. Yours is the first in depth tutorial I've found.

This makes us so happy! Sewing machines are so fun with all the different projects you can make! What was the first project you made?

Thanks for your great video, really helpful. Can you use the elongated function in mode 2 or only in mode 1? For example in mode 2 stitch style 05

It was really great information as I am considering buying a Janome S6. However, it was a little dizzying watching as she kept moving the piece just sewn and the camera person kept trying to follow. Maybe think through a stationary place to hold the fabric so you bring your work to the camera rather than him chasing to see it. Also slower and more stationary movements are easier to watch on camera. Holding things in your hand are not the easiest to see, lying flat on a surface would be easier as the hand is uneven and moves around as you are trying to level it. Remember you aren't viewing your stitching you are meant to show the cloth to the camera to those watching so we can see the stitches you just made.

They have different plates for different stitches. Zig-zag stitch and a single hole needle plate for straight stitch accurate sewing are two of the most common plates!

I also have trouble with blind hem

    • @alwaysinstitches5388

That is a tricky stitch! Sewing it several times on a scrap helped me to learn it! Then hemming something else before what I really wanted to hem worked out!

This would have been more helpful if I could hear what she was saying. I had to put on the closed captions and it made it harder for me to follow. Otherwise it was a nice way to show what the machine could do. I am looking forward to learning more about the machine.
