    Nice video, the only suggestion I would make is to always loosen the fill plug before you remove the drain plug on any transmission, differential or transfer case (aka PTU) fluid service. You don't want to have the issue where you drain the fluid but can't remove the fill plug to refill the fluid. Thanks for making the video.

    Thank you ! . I just bought a 2013 Subaru Crosstrex . I clearly understand how to fix or change things on My Ru . Once again thank you .

    Excellent video. I started by loosening the fill plug. It was the tightest of all 3 plugs. Needed my 18” ratchet and all the leverage I could muster.

      Yes, I was surprised how tight everything was from the factory.. glad you enjoyed the video!

    Thanks for making this video. Plan to do this in the next week or two. Questions:
    1. Seems everyone mentions the fill is tight. Would a little penetrant cause any contamination?
    2. Does the gear oil have to be Synthetic?

    • @amedeovincenzo6575
      @amedeovincenzo6575  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Spraying down the fill and drain plugs before you get started shouldn't be any issue at all. However, I would avoid getting any excessive amount of penetrating oil into the differential once you get the plugs out... As far as the oil type, I called Subaru of America and got the gear oil they recommended, and if I remember correctly it was only available as a synthetic oil anyway..

    Thanks for making this video. My car has 120,000 miles and they recommend Drive Axle Assembly Drain Refill. What brand did you go with? I saw it was 75W-90 Synthetic but couldn't see the brand. Looks like Mobil 1 but wasn't sure. Do you have a video for the rear dif. How often do you do hths on your car? Thanks.

    • @amedeovincenzo6575

      It was most likely Mobile 1 I use it in just about every everything..

      @amedeovincenzo6575  ปีที่แล้ว

      So looks like I used Valvoline gear oil.. if you check on my page I have a video of changing the rear fluid. As far as interval I'm not sure what the manufacturer suggests, but that was the first and only time I did it..

    Thanks for the video. Was that the factory fill, or was it changed in a previous service?

    So to fill in the gear oil, it’s on the passenger side right?

    I noticed you didn't use a pump or syringe to fill the diff, how difficult was it to just fill straight from the bottle?

    • @amedeovincenzo6575
      @amedeovincenzo6575  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yep.. the bottle fits up in the space by the CV axle..

    Hello, thank you for the video, I have an XV and do you know how much to put in the front transmission? I know for the rear it's 0.8 liters but for the front I don't know, thanks

    • @amedeovincenzo6575

      You should fill it from the side until it comes out the small port on the bottom of the transmission..

      Not sure how much they've changed throughout the model years.. but it's worth taking a look to compare. Can't imagine Subaru radically changed much in 2 years.
