+Diego Lobo hmm so you would listen to someone even if they sounded shit as long as they were angry for a good reason? Aesthetics comes hand in hand with the passion, if it doesn't sound good to the ear you just wouldn't listen to it simple as that. Although I like both of their screams, live I think jays is better and I understand why because of what Frank said which makes sense.
I hope this finds you well A father lost and mother dear The family that's kept me here Heartless and cold, and I've learned it well How to loose everything How to push you away How to lie when I say "I never raised a hand to the ones I love." Now look at how You beg and pray For your god and his grace To keep you safe To save you from me My broken spirit and back My calloused, shaking hands The ache I carry in me My grief and skeletons The weight you carried inside A weight that held my bloodline Black out the sunlight I count these burdens as mine And still all you see is that bastard in me Believing in hell A father lost and mother dear The family that I squandered here Heartless and cold, and I forgot it all How to loose everything How to push you away How to lie when I say "I never raised a hand to the ones I love." But I remember how You begged and prayed For your god and his grace To keep you safe To save you from me My broken spirit and back My calloused, shaking hands The ache I carry in me My grief and skeletons The weight you carried inside A weight that held my bloodline Black out the sunlight I count these burdens as mine And still all I see is that bastard in me
This is awesome AF, but the dude needs to stop cupping the mic. Simply because his scream is powerful enough that he doesn't need to. And it gets a really muddy tone. That's why a lot of people are commenting that the backing vox sound better
Actually I change my mind now, I think the vocals, along with every other instrument, is a core part of what they are doing, and it takes the sum of ALL of the parts of their music to get across what they are trying to.
Audiotree is the shit. Thank you guys, excellent work with all the bands.
It's so cool that Paul Rudd would take a break from acting to drum in a punk band.
Why isn't he slappin da bass?
@@xGUNjrx I love you man! Such a good film. I love the obvious chemistry between Segal and Rudd
man Joe Longobardi has to be one of my favorite drummers in hardcore, seriously.
I thought you said Joe Longboardi and lol'd
I love this band, I hope they never end
I love defeater with all my heart, but man Im starting to think the backing vocalist has a better scream?
I agree.
That's what happens when you do this. Screaming for days on tour does that. Where as Jay only does it as backing. Not so straining really.
+Jim Woodley Scream on hardcore music is not about aesthetics. It's about taking out the anger within. Stay in peace.

Jim Woodley
If the shit is an escape to a world with less pain, yes.
one of the best live bands ever
cant get enough of these guys. But when i do i listen to some alcoa
I can't wait for some new tunes from these gents
Not to mention that these guys tour all the time, his voice could just be worn out. Seen them live multiple times, his vocals are usually much better.
I hope this finds you well

Stfu you think you're so cool lmao
+MaxMorerProductions but cupping the mic is wrong bro
So tight dude. His vocals are a bit distorted though because hes so close, but other than that it's one of favorites.
They are amazing live, i can't love them more. But he needs to learn how to hold the mic
There isn't a "right" way to hold a microphone. Everyone has their own way.
there is, that's why it sounds bad. He is way too close to the mic and he is covering it with his hand. Im not judging, just saying. Cheers
César Venturai like the way it sounds. bigtyme.
12 12 Every engineer out there will tell you not to cup the mic. At least not recording.
César Ventura He probably likes the "raw" sound that comes from him doing that. They are a "punk"/"hardcore" band.
such a great band
This is beautiful
favorit song , thank's
The guitarist scream is fucking sick
the vocals in this, and seeing them live, sound way different than on the album
what black magic is this?
christ this is such a fucking banger
So much energy! Fuck yeah.
Back vocal sounds just like Oliver Sykes from BMTH. That's awesome
+metalin blood it sounds nothing like him.
+metalin blood more like Spencer from Underoath....
+Persha Snowdon it sounds nothing like him.
I'm looking for an acoustic cover of this song I found like 4 years ago. If anyone could help me out that would be great!
Someone tab this
sugarmill 2011
I love the instrument and would prefer without vocals. Just being honest, this is my personal opinion.
+Anthony Mendoza try Russian circles, or Pelican maybe
Actually I change my mind now, I think the vocals, along with every other instrument, is a core part of what they are doing, and it takes the sum of ALL of the parts of their music to get across what they are trying to.
***** it grows on you, doesn't it? :) cheers
if you like these guys, check out gallows
+etiquettefiend yeah but old one, with Frank on vocals !
This sound was beat to death by bands like Unsane, Firehose & Helmet in the early 90's. Almost have something when you find your own sound.
No, no it was not.
Are we listening to the same band? Nowhere in this do I hear Helmet, Firehose or Unsane.
Dont know about Firehose and Unsane, but I see tinges of Helmet.
Каеф!
