I just bought a 7000 Lumen flashlight from Costco Canada today. Before tax, it was priced at $29.99. I'm not very knowledgeable about flashlights, so I hope I made a good choice. I plan to use it around the house and outside, especially when I need to go to the garage in the dark to retrieve something or dispose of trash. I believe a dedicated flashlight is preferable to using my phone's flashlight. This way, if I accidentally drop my phone in the dark, I won't risk damaging it further. Replacing a smartphone is a significant expense, especially if I own it outright. P.S it didn't tell me what the instruction was for using my flashlight like what was the M for? I mean the basic power button I knew, but the M button idk what that is and how I can get my flashlight to use 3k lumas so I can have it run fo 3.5 hours or 6 hours instead of 7000 lumas and having it last for 1.5 hours
Thank you. I have no affiliations with any of the stuff I review. That's why i always say to find the best deal you can for yourself. I provide links, but i try to point them to the manufacturer when i can. Hence no sales bias.
I bought it from Costco, NYC, and I love love. Love it. In pitch Black it lights up like daylight. Plus it's not like a dollar store flashlight. This thing is rigid and can be used as a melee weapon.
@@Brad-zilla the indicator is right below the USB port and is VERY dim since it is part of the battery pack and has to shine through a cutout for it. You can plug the battery pack in on its own when it’s outside the flashlight.
I will use it every day to walk my dog early in the day. At first, I didn't know about the USB-out, and accidentally plugged it in there, and this video led to correct my mistake.
Man oh man, I'm excited to run into this video. I have the 5000, and I love it so much I bought two of them. One is still in the box reserved for future use. I can't wait for Costco to open up in the mourning so I can pick up the 7000. Who knows I may buy two of them lol. Like you said in your previous video, what kind of a self respecting man doesn't like a good flashlight. Or two, lol. Thanks for the video. You have a new subscriber here!
Looks like they pulled them from the shelves due to poor reviews online - I was hoping to pick one up but all I found was the price tag and an empty shelf. Gone from the online store as well.
I was shocked at how good the flashlight was for the price, it came with batteries included and a separate rechargeable lithium ion battery pack, and it lit up my entire backyard even at low settings, it actually felt suspiciously cheap I searched it up and it has no step down feature to stop it from overheating, do you think it could be a fire hazard if someone runs it at high too long? As a test I ran it on high while charging and it got uncomfortably hot in just one minute, it didn't have a safety feature to stop it from doing both at once, even though it should
I got mine November 15th at our brand new costco. Was on sale for $29.99 CAD.I am not sure how long to charge the battery pack. I am old and the text on the instructions is to hard to read. The lite is very bright
@@Shadow-q5y That's too bad. I carried high end pro flashlights for decades. My life depended on them. The X1 has a great build and could be used for defense if need be. But without a narrow beam to project long distances, it will never be a great flashlight. Great for the price point and great for the house. But a slight modification would just make it great. Narrow that beam. A 5' spread at 6' just sucks. thanks...
its a wicked flashlight as i bought one too but im glad its shown in this video costco has a lawsuit suit waiting to happen with these flashlights. they get really hot and costco put a yellow sticker over the warning labels, seems dangerous to do that for this light
Just purchased the 5000 from Costco, What happens if you put power in the out socket? also if i use rechargeables in the battery pack will it charge them ok?
Thanks for the video. Is the spot beam on the 7000 really a spot beam? On the 5000 it is not. It reduces the beam in size, but does not get down to a spot, to say, point at something with the beam. Has the 7000 corrected that?
@vaughanroche, that what I'd like to know. I have the 5000 and I really like that like for what I use it for but I would like it even more if the spot light would really zoom in. That would really make it way better.
i have it and it kinda is like the 5000 but the whole beam and center is a bit brighter. but the radius of the beam has not improved from what it feels like. Light is way more white and less blueish so you see colors better.
Just got this today. Seems you can hold either the power button OR the mode button for 3 seconds to inactivate/reactivate the display mode...I thought it would just be the power button, but nope, either/or. Love this light thus far.
"now this is charging" but you didn't say or show if it's supposed to indicate in some way that it is in fact charging when it's plugged in. I bought one and when I plug in the USBC cable. Nothing shows that it's charging.
Perhaps go to the store and try out another one of theirs, and if not white, exchange it. I dont remember there being anything on the lens itself, like a film. Maybe you got one that is defective.
@@Brad-zilla Do you think they can exchange the one I bought for another one? After watching your video, I started to notice the light is different, mine being a light yellow and not a blue bright LED light like yours, while we both have the same flashlight. Actually the one in front was looking good, but I did something silly and grab the one at the back like some of us do when it comes to milk and other foods we buy. Thanks again for taking the time to reply.
@@skyecloud968 they will exchange it, Costco is good for that, but take a look and make sure yours isn't the older version of 5000 lumens, and this is the 7000 version (I have another video reviewing the 5000 lumen light if you want to see the differences) I think that's what you meant about blue LEDs
@@davidglenn1yup! It’s definitely a use case scenario. Great for flashlight cops. For example, It’s sturdy enough that you can use it to whack someone in self defense if need to. Solid light, impressive. Thanks to my boo - Merry Xmas to me. :)
LUX meter comparison was legit, thanks Brad!
I just got the 5000 lumens version...too bad they didn't have this instead!

Thanks, Brad. This is exactly what I was looking for. Great review.
FYI there is charge indicator LED where you plug the USB-C. It is red when charging and turns green when fully charged. Also on the 5000 model.
Maybe mine is defective then... I will look into it,ty

Where? I don’t see it? Wish the blue lights flashed as it was charging.

Costco doesn't seem to sell the 7000 Lumens only the 5000.
They will. I don't see it yet on the costco USA site, but im sure its coming as other have found them.

The beam on the 5000 doesn’t adjust to spot or flood…I turned to narrow and widen the beam but no real difference, plz help!
I hope the narrow beam is actually narrow, because on the 5,000 lumen it is way too wide. Unless my 5000 is defective?
