Great video. Thanks for the well-laid out instructions. I've only used my GoPro in saltwater once and thought that a quick rinse would do the trick. Now I need to go check all of the secret hiding spots for salt residue. Very helpful.

Hey, Mitch maybe a small compressor like an airbrush compressor would be good to get all the water out. Or you can spray down your equipment with alcohol which will displace the water as well as dissolve any particles and then blow-dry.

I'll clean it later today when I get home, now I know I don't wash my things good enough... I'm still worried that some of the parts I get from AliExpress aren't good with water though, but I don't want to invest so much money just for let's say an original case... hope it will be good. Ive been using the 3+ black since 2013 without so much care, just rinse of or softly clean with fresh water (1 2 mins only), and it stays up til' date (no salt built up at all p.s my hometown is seaside city), the same to my 5ss and 6 black. I dont think that much care is so neccessary, those GP are born to serve and survive ....
Would you recommend buying distilled water to finish the rinse? Does lime also build up if you rinse with fresh water? I notice well water leaves lime deposits on everything.
