    Wow. That is some MP engineering in a legend scale. If I was going to nit pick, I would say the trailer doesn't have the notch on top to allow the repair bay robot to stick up the top, but I can understand why they wouldn't do that. The ramp for the rear, though should slide out and not flip out as you have to split the trailer to utilize it. Looks like a nice figure and again, if I started collection now, I'd do Legends and not MP at this point. Another great review....for the 36th time...lol.

    Wow, that was masterpiece level transformation for a small figure. I was expecting him to transform more similar to the G1 toy; flip, flip, bend, done. I like the attention to detail they did with the trailer and the other accessories. All of the different combinations for things and the extra compartment to store some of the accessories.

    Nothing better that 15+ minute video from Uncle Skullface to start hump day. Appreciate you sir. Also, my opinion of this little rascal has changed a bit seeing all that paint, and more dense plastic. Might pick him up, but probably will stick with MS 2.0. God I hate the plastic they use. Why?

    The only issue I have with this figure is the faux chest, not because is fake but because it is pretty evident. I just avoid posing it from the sides. 😅😁

    That’s a really impressive figure, I definitely agree with the drawbacks but for the size it’s a great piece of engineering. It even manages to have a better backpack than MP-44! 😅

    Looks great but I feel like we lost the "allure"of legends. I always thought of legends as simplistic to moderate transformations that you can just pick up and fiddle with. Now they're getting overly complex for such little guys. Still amazing to look at

    • @sssspider
      @sssspider 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I have the Nemesis Prime version of this figure, and while it’s a bit more complex than other Newage transformations it’s actually not bad at all once you’ve done it a few times.

    • @themechaidiot
      @themechaidiot 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For me it ain't really about complexity, it's about intuitivity, newage figs have a clear start and stop(mostly) in each joint and are really beautiful, a good toy and a good collectable

    • @sssspider
      @sssspider 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’d argue that once you get used to it it’s actually pretty intuitive. I get tripped up more often by the feet on their Soundwave, where you have to flip a bunch of panels and hinges in a very specific and not particularly intuitive order to get them to fold up.

    • @basicfacekick
      @basicfacekick 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There'll be a breakpoint (possibly literally) where Legends cannot pack any more complicated flips, flaps, twists and turns into the scale. I think NewAge and Magic Square are as complicated as they can be at the scale right now. MS goes a bit harder on it... but also can put in a little extra articulation for it. NewAge can be less fiddly and a hair less articulated, but makes up for that with killer deco. And Iron Factory is doing their own thing. It's a great time to be a Legends collector.

    • @sssspider
      @sssspider 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@basicfacekick Magic Square is already tickling that limit. I have the MS Megatron and its transformation is god-awful, it feels like a Masterpiece transformation jammed into a Legends figure and that's NOT a compliment.

  • @GareWorks
    @GareWorks 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I feel like making the engineering so complicated and fiddly at this size completely detracts from part of the fun of Legends. Then again, I only have a small Legends collection because I don't actively collect any of them, only the characters I really want, since Masterpiece is my focus. Still, this looks complicated for a Masterpiece figure, let alone a Legends figure.

    • @asaphmartinez4225
      @asaphmartinez4225 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The transformation really isn't that complicated at all, intimidating a little definitely took me 3 weeks of looking at him to finally build up the courage to turn him to alt mode, im like u and collect mp's especially Fanstoys but every now and then a mini-masterpiece will pop up like this 1 and I gotta get em 👍

    The back of the truck without trailer is not clean enough for me (the skirt and the feet stickout too much). The faux chest is ugly on a lot of angle. I agree that the double elbow should be there. Cant wait for the magic square 2.0 comparison.
    But for the love of god, I hate how many optimus have a terrible look of him holding his rifle . Because of the forearms design there is a huge horrible gap

    Mindboggling amount of crazy needed to transform that thing. I'll pass on that mess. With that amount of work, they might as well sell a non-transformable prime.
    Side note that I'm stupid lazy, so it could just be not the right prime for me. :)

      @@grrrraffe You got that exactly right! This figure has a ton of unique twists on the Optimus conversion scheme but the main similarities between most of them are still there. Sides of the truck becomes the arms, the front becomes the chest, the back forms the legs.

  • @DragoonMS

    I've seen a couple Chinese reviews of Magic Square "Light of Victory" (that's the name of their Optimus 2.0)...and I am not impressed. The plastic of the figure looks nasty and slightly see-through, easily the worst they've used. The windows are all just light blue paint over that nasty looking red plastic, there's no actual translucent plastic to be found here. Also, one particular reviewer who had a test shot/review sample confirmed something I'd seen on ShowZ Store's website: because of some factory screwup, they're NOT going to include the trailer drone. And overall, *THAT REALLY SUCKS*, because despite the crappy plastic, I do like the robot mode a little bit more than the robot mode of NewAge.
