Mike is so insightful. One of my favorite episodes of Last Meals to date. Linkin Park saved my life. The effect of One More Light on my own journey is immense. I don't know if he'll see this, but I want to say thank you to Mike, Chester, and the entire band from the bottom of my heart.
The fact that we had people recently try to make up these stories about him and Chester not having a good relationship is still so crazy to me. They were clearly so tight and you can hear it not only in these stories but also when Chester himself talked about Mike (and the mountains of video footage of the two that speaks for itself). This is a band that in their 20+ yrs of existence haven't had one single internal problem and that's one of the rarest things when it comes to a band this big especially one with 6 people because of the scope of how many differences there can be even if you're tight. So it really goes to show you how special what all of them had and still have with with each other. They're friends before everything. It's why I trust them with this new era and choosing to bring in Emily bc if she's really what people accuse her of being, no way they'd have let her in.
This 100%. Emily's situation is probably extremely complicated but I'm not going to condemn her over the situation of her birth. If Mike, Joe, Dave and even Talinda Bennington are cool with her being in LP, then I'm cool with it.
@T_K_W yep, nevermind the fact that there's zero actual confirmation or concrete information that she's still a member. Her own Dead Sara lyrics heavily allude to her feelings about having to grow up in the cult (the lyrics of "we are what you say" can't be about anything else). These situations are always complicated and given their reputation I don't think people can feel entitled to her speaking out against them just for their appeasement, esp if it puts her family in danger. It's also worth nothing that her mother figure (not actual mother) Shea Bowen Smith's husband literally shot the cover for Leah Remini's book about leaving Scientology and she considers them family way more than her own (her mom was never around much bc of her rank in Sea Org). There's so much more to this situation than people realize.

I loved this interview. I love Mike and LP. It's hard to choose only one song of all the discography of LP, so I'll choose 3 from the new album: The Emptiness Machine, Heavy is the Crown and Good Things Go. ❤ And now I am hungry.
Mike is one of my favorite celebrities, he just seems so down to earth and wholesome. LP was my first real favorite band, started with Hybrid Theory, like a million other people, they saved me. I miss the hell outta Chester as well. My favorite episode to date.
Absolutely incredible! I've been a HUGE LP fan since they first came out. My best friends and I listened to them non-stop! I listen to them with every mood. Happy, sad, mad, grieving, ANYTHING and EVERYTHING, and they're mudic has always helped me work out my feelings. I love them so much. They will always and forever be my absolute favorite band of all time!!
Favorite Linkin Park songs: Hybrid Theory: “In the End” Meteora: “Numb” Minutes to Midnight: “What I’ve Done” A Thousand Suns: “Waiting for the End” Living Things: “CASTLE OF GLASS” The Hunting Party: “Until It’s Gone” One More Light: “One More Light” From Zero: “The Emptiness Machine”
Genuine question: what is the appropriate level of credit? The adoration of millions of die hard fans, traveling worldwide several times over with red carpet roll-outs, countless accolades, multiple well-received creative outlets, and tens of millions of dollars to go along with that all... That isn't enough credit? There's no shade intended here. It just seems like to someone with only cursory LP knowledge, there's an appropriate level of success or "credit"
Mike is one of my favorite artists of all time, I appreciate that you could tell how excited Josh was too. Been my favorite band since I was in 2nd grade and I a mom in my 30s now lol
Linkin Park actually helped me a lot growing up. When I was a kid, my parents would go to bars every Friday and come home drunk and fight. My brothers and I would wake up in the middle of the night hearing them scream so being the big sister that I was, I would take my headphones and plug it to my radio and have my brother and I share the headphones and blasting Linkin Park in order to help us calm down. Linkin Park really helped my brother and I bond because we are only less than 2 years apart.

I loved this interview. I love Mike and LP. It's hard to choose only one song of all the discography of LP, so I'll choose 3 from the new album: The Emptiness Machine, Heavy is the Crown and Good Things Go. ❤ And now I am hungry.
Good Things Go is incredible. Definitely one of my favorites
I love those and Stained, too ❤
@jennacallahan1 I've had Stained on repeat too! Hard to pick a favorite because they're all so good
Love Shinoda! Great interview Josh! Really fun!
absolutely love Mike - hes so chill and funny , great guy to sit at a table to have a laugh and conversation with.
Mike is one of my favorite celebrities, he just seems so down to earth and wholesome. LP was my first real favorite band, started with Hybrid Theory, like a million other people, they saved me. I miss the hell outta Chester as well. My favorite episode to date.
CRAAAAAWLING in my CRAAAAAAAWL!
LOL always my first thought when I think Linkin Park. Their music is great but that video is next level
These CRAAAAWL they will not CRAAAAWWWWWWWWWL!
??? Lol
is that your favorite Linkin Park is song
????? I'm lost
What a first guest to have this year 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽. Loved this
My son is a fan of linkin park and it makes me feel so old yet so happy that I can share what I grew up on with him ❤️
Wow! It's Mike Shinoda! Just love everything about him..i'm a fan since 2000. I love LP so much so it's hard to choose a favorite song, oh boy!
Favorite Linkin Park songs:
Hybrid Theory: “In the End”
Meteora: “Numb”
Minutes to Midnight: “What I’ve Done”
A Thousand Suns: “Waiting for the End”
Living Things: “CASTLE OF GLASS”
The Hunting Party: “Until It’s Gone”
One More Light: “One More Light”
From Zero: “The Emptiness Machine”
Mike Shinoda still deserves more credit man…
No. He doesn't.
@@Swedish_Pagan78 whats wrong with you ?
Genuine question: what is the appropriate level of credit?
The adoration of millions of die hard fans, traveling worldwide several times over with red carpet roll-outs, countless accolades, multiple well-received creative outlets, and tens of millions of dollars to go along with that all... That isn't enough credit?
There's no shade intended here. It just seems like to someone with only cursory LP knowledge, there's an appropriate level of success or "credit"
What? Mike isn't underrated or underappreciated by any means. He's literally a super star across genres. Y'all have no sense or thoughts of your own.
Mike shouldn't have sold out to the organization he did. Everyone knows Mythical is the one true cult.
the questions you ask are so good, wow! keep it up; loved the depth and humour
Mike is one of my favorite artists of all time, I appreciate that you could tell how excited Josh was too. Been my favorite band since I was in 2nd grade and I a mom in my 30s now lol
This is such a great interview, thanks for asking thoughtful questions!
Came as soon as I got the notification! Love him and the band!
Pft. What band
@@IzraelGraves Linkin Park
@@infinityxdreams7808 You don't say. They don't exist anymore
@IzraelGraves what kind of comment is this??
@@IzraelGraves”They” would find you pathetic and deplorable
Such a great chat, Josh and Mythical Crew! Mike is a very cool Human Being. More musicians on Last Meals, please!
Thank you for this. At my Husband’s funeral, we played One More Light. This made my week. 💜
I'm sorry for your loss, hope you're doing well.🤗❤
Sending love. So sorry for your loss ❤
What a great interview! Both of them delivered 👏🏻😃
I'm so glad to see Mike featured in the show
I feel like this is the most candid he's been about everything after Chester's death specifically with the band.
Best. Episode. Ever. Love ya Mike and the LP members. So awesome to see him on the show. He is always so saf3 and welcoming when sharing his stories. Dude is a underground mentor.
Mike Shinoda on Last Meals wasn’t not on my 2025 bingo card
This was such a fun & interesting interview. I could have listened to this for another 4-5 hours. I'm so excited to see LP in Greenville this year.
Okay seriously, who else immediately went to Spotify for that playlist? Also, now I want tsukemen ramen so thanks😅 great episode
Mike is such a beautiful human being. The most natural and down to earth artist. What a blessing for him to produce music for us.
Mike seems like a very chill guy
Everyone catch the LP logo over Mike’s shoulder?
@mikeshinoda You have the most beautiful hands I've ever seen! Really🤲🏻! Your nails are trimmed and cleaned perfectly while you cook, paint or make music😚Much love❄️☮️
First Serj, now Mike. This is awesome!
He’s so eloquent. I love how he talks about Chester. Love the band dearly
Kenji is such an amazing underrated song. I'm so glad they talked about it.
From Linkin Park to Fort Minor, Mike Shinoda has been a staple in my playlist since I was 8. Thank you for your contributions to the music industry, sir.
Linkin Park and Mike Shinodas music has been so powerful for me personally.
One of the few musical bands that I can process my emotions so well
