  • It's a big week this week as Michael finishes removing the render inside the house. The transformation is HUGE! He also sets to filling a skip but not without a little bit of help from Becci!
    Thanks as always for watching, liking, commenting, and subscribing. It's a joy to share our journey with you!

    I can't believe how you finished all that work in such a short period of time on your own. Bravo

    Great job again, looks like the old barrow had a fat lip by the end of it. Massive though, sure looks amazing.❤

    You'll be buying hardcore next! Very satisfying to see all that hardcore go in the skip. Hard work but rewarding.

    Well done, both of you, filling a skip with rubble , is toil & trouble & back breaking work. You have both hit a mile stone now. Michael, I'm glad you got a new wheel barrow, the old one looked as though it had taken a few nose dives 😊 although it was proven to be still very useful. Keep up the good work!

      Thank you so much - as always! ☺️ yes, we definitely needed a back-up wheelbarrow 😅

    Wow! Beast mode engaged with those tons and tons of rubble! Well done both of you. What are you planning on doing next in the house now that the render removal is complete? Funny I was thinking when you first started loading the skip (apart from the fact that if you were in the UK the skip would have magically filled will rubbish and artefacts overnight) that it would be a right pain if it rained ...and gosh did it rain for the second one!!!!!!

    • @PortugalonaPostcard
      @PortugalonaPostcard  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      🤣 it was torrential for the second one! I was worried it was going to add another tonne to the weight!
      The plan is to start replacing beams etc. ready to do the roof over the summer 🤞🏼
      Thanks as always for your lovely comment - it means a lot! 💛

    Bloody good job - no pilates needed for you! I was wondering if any of the rubble would be suitable as fill? For example to level out the camping area over the road?

    It’s a shame that you couldn’t reuse that “rubble” for your walkways

    • @PortugalonaPostcard
      @PortugalonaPostcard  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Thank you 😊 we will keep some as hardcore but unfortunately we won't be able to reuse over 15 tonnes of it 😩

    That is a magnificent roof support structure. You have done well getting all the render off. Don't envy you the job of repointing if that is what you are going to do. Another laborious, long task. It is a magnificent big room. May I ask, how come your home consists of two main buildings. Was one a barn?

    • @PortugalonaPostcard
      @PortugalonaPostcard  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you so much 😊 the downstairs will have been used for storage and divided up then they lived upstairs. We have a couple of separate outbuildings too!
