    I have to admit that I purchased that $2500 Dumble tube.
    I put it in my 1968 Zenith television.
    Works great in case anyone was wondering.
    I feel I got a good deal.👍🥃

    that's an average price for the butt probe. awesome "pedal", used by trent reznor etc, really gross distortion and filtering, super hard to come by. look up metasonix stuff, they did a lot of weird pedals and amps and a lot of them had vulgar graphics and names.

    Seeing someone list a $1200 Mesa Preamp for 7x the price because it belonged to a celebrity shows you what goes on in peoples heads who list this trash. Most Reverb sellers are greedy and stupid, but the owned-by-famous-artist listings take the cake, because they’re assuming that there’s some sucker out there who cares that much about having someone famous’s gear, that they’d be willing to part with that kind of cash for a much less valuable item in this ridiculous economy.
    I love Blink 182 and I wouldn’t pay a penny more for anything owned by the band, I would only pay for a price of gear for the gear itself. Do people really worship fame that much?

      The real question is how much did it sell for when it was listed in Tom’s Reverb Shop?
      It’s been my experience that Official Artist Reverb Shop typically price the gear within the normal value range of the particular item UNLESS it is an item that was significant in that artist’s career.

    Love this, but most of the listings are ridiculous. I’ve been tentatively looking at amps like Carr, Toneking, Morgan ect. and in a lot of instances here in the U.K. they want virtually the same, or more, for secondhand gear. And this whole listing 25 year old gear as vintage is a con as well.

    • @PikkaBird
      @PikkaBird 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup, not a single aspect of the whole thing is fully right. The curves of the body, the angle of the tail light, the neck joint, the unevenness of the surface... Yeesh. Stig Pedersen of D-A-D plays a car tailfin bass (or two, actually) that are vastly better in execution than this.

    The first Heritage guitars available to the public were released in 1985, with the serial number starting with the letter "b" (pre-production prototypes were built in 1984, serial number starts with the letter "a"). I highly doubt that is a 1984 Heritage, and with no serial number there is no way to verify the actual production date.

    Why why why, is Tom Delong shit so expensive? He's a mediocre guitar player at best, from a crappy made for MTV 90s band. I don't get it. But Silverface amps and 70s and 80s Gibsons are going for insane money now, when a decade ago they were what you bought because you couldn't afford a new one, so I guess if you wait long enough, the cool factor outweighs and deficiencies in quality.

    • @SluggerStark
      @SluggerStark 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My first "real" guitar was a '79 Les Paul Custom I picked up in 1997. For a little over $500 Canadian. I bought it with the help of my dad because that is all I could afford and Gibsons from that era in the late 90's were not considered desirable or collectable. Reverb as a whole has turned in to one big money grab now and what I absolutely hate is that it is trickling down into local sales sites, where guys try to justify their insane listing price by posting a pic of an even more absurd Reverb listing. Glad I have a nice collection of guitars and amps I picked up from back when prices were sane.

    Times running out! I really don't know if a lot of this stuff (old Gibson's, fenders, amps) will be valuable to the same degree in 20-30 yrs as it apparently is now.

      I agree...the prices of this “vintage” stuff is merely reflecting an emotional attachment to this crap...in 20yrs will someone pay 100 grand for a Taylor Swift guitar...like Monk says...”I may be wrong, but I don’t think so”....
