The first listing is a copy of a Auerswald Model C - I remember seeing Prince (briefly) play it towards the end of the Lovesexy gig in London. "The Auerswald Model C is an electric guitar used by Prince in the late 1980s and early 1990s. It was built by the luthier Jerry Auerswald, who also built the Symbol guitar and Cleo bass. It has a bar connecting the body to the headstock, called a "sustain bow" - like the Roland G-707, "
@@ksukhia That crazy site is still up? I thought he died about 10 years ago, and Gibson had sued him, or they tried to. I don't remember the whole story, but wasn't he heavily modding Les Pauls with a different cutaway and heel joint? I think he even re-branded them as his own.
@@MK-1010 no I dont think it is, though you can find it on way back machine or internet archive... I was reading it back in 2005-06 tho when he was still swinging around all crazylike very much alive lol Not sure he rebranded the vintage ones, but ya, he had no issues 'improving' something like a 59 LP.
Does anybody else find it ridiculous when a piece of gear is, say, $500 new (free shipping). And someone decides to sell the same item USED for, say, $450 plus $100 shipping? I see it all the time. Who would buy the used item in this case?
I imagine Joe B. sitting in front of his computer rn zooming in on the images of the pot. “Yeah I think that’s rust from Corona and that solder looks very original” 🧐🤔😂
The headless bass looks like the first Stienberger prototype, and it's funny how it says 15 out of 30 survived. Did the other 15 wind up in the fireplace? What a strange time, the 70s were. We were still recovering from the 60s. 😄
Listing 4 is literally from another channel which I won't name because when I name channels my comments get deleted but there are a LOT of demos of that guitar and provenance to go with it
I like the first guitar it's crazy enough I wouldn't mind owning it because it's very different. I owned a Kramer Enterprise for a short time before it was stolen. The second looks like a Zemaitis Portrait, I had one back in the day and today they go for several thousand bucks and the real early ones like I had are untouchable. I would love to get another Zemaitis Portrait it was an amazing guitar. I came close to buying a homage that the company Alden guitars made, they did both the pearl and abalone tops as well as the engraved metal tops like Zemaitis. Antonio Tsai is known for his inlay work.
The 1st one is ultra weird, but, for guys who like weird instruments it's not too bad of a deal for a really really weird guitar. And I LLLLLOVE guitars which are entirely white (fretboard included) like my ESP LTD TE-200 that my luthier worked on (stainless steel frets, Fletcher scatter wound humbuckers, entirely white with chrome hardware and perloid inlays and binding). And I can't see the detail of the spray paint cans, but now you also have high-gloss quality polyurethane spray paint (you need to activate the 2 component mix within the can before spraying) that you can use when you don't have the complete air compressed spray gun ... so, you can make a very good polyurethane paint/finish with polyurethane spray cans.
Listing 6 9:51 man.. finally!! this "Rare" warwick is for sale EVERYWHERE!! the japan stores do this... one store holds it and the rest list it on reverb for a slightly different price.. But, ALL of the Nobby basses and guitars for sale..
The reason is just one of many. No headstock dive. Much lighter, stays in tune better. Try a Strandberg, one of the easiest, lightest, killer sounding guitars😅 available. Of course, in my humble opinion. But I'm also an older man. I know I have played at least 90% of the major manufacturers. I dare you, try one with its triangle neck and fanned s.s. frets. A must for my collection .
I looked into antonio tsai a decade ago and I found out he was a teacher of a furniture making class somewhere in southeast asia and his students would build guitars for the class (IDK why) and he would list them on ebay for sale and they were really cheap for all the inlay work. The quality is supposedly terrible on them so they are more wall hangers than players. I don't know if all this info is correct but that seemed to be what I found out. I considered buying one for around $300 a long time ago but glad I didn't.
It begs the question, why make it headless if you're gonna put ALL THAT WOOD up where the head would be anyway? I also appreciate this very mandolin oriented episode.
"Why do you exist headless guitar?" because in the late 70s to mid 80s it was all about "modern new style" and frankly Fenders and Gibsons of the time were total trash. That is why you had all the crazy guitar and bass designs with all the crazy colors, people didn't want malaise era Fender and Gibson instruments, so everyone was trying new things. I still have my Washburn Force bass from 83 which looks like you took a P-Bass and stretched it, still plays and looks great after all these years.
10 years ago! This is a classic, "Don't lowball me, I know what I got!"
This is one of my favorite things on TH-cam.
the look of headless guitars make me shudder like when you crack open an egg and discover it's rotten.
I like how the first headless guitar has a head...
There was a dog. Why did you not give that listing 5 beards?

That actually reminded me of those builds for Prince, now I know why!
another one of those weird things I know bc of Ed Roman's wacky website and the endless hours I spent reading it all

I can see that double neck Gibson mandolin making its rounds in the New Grass scene.
Am I the only one who thought the weird abalone les paul thing was actually kinda awesome...
yea ....sometimes puggie has poor taste....
IYV actually makes custom guitars too. You gotta pay via money order though 🙄 But a RD clone shipped to me would have been sub 500
the 1st White guitar looked like the KING of NECK dive!!!
0:41 Obviously this guitar is designed to be a huge tuning fork so you don’t need a tuner! Just bang it up against something sturdy! So convenient! 😂
Needs more Abalone.

At this point most listings on Reverb are ridiculous to various degrees
No one:
Fluff: Next listing! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
1:30 look at all the paint overspray or dust or whatever that is on all the guitars in the back. Yikes!
imagine the guys lungs...
hey I know you 😂
That doubleneck mandolin would be equal to $4500 these days.
I imagine Joe B. sitting in front of his computer rn zooming in on the images of the pot. “Yeah I think that’s rust from Corona and that solder looks very original” 🧐🤔😂
I have not seen you for a while. -Great to see you back. Maybe I missed some videos. Great video. Thank you.
inb4 "this is fake" guy
That be Mr. Hill and he's in for Rate or Roast....🤣
"ive sent in 17 pics and not one has been used"
On that double mandolin playing Djelta Blves.
8:00
"No lowballers"
"Looks like your dog didn't get the memo..."
Not sure you covered it before but some dude is selling a RAT pedal on Reverb for $10k. 😂🎉💩🤬
Only 30 built. 15 remain because the other 15 never sold .
I have seen Photos of the Double Mando before. Neat.

That first one totally looks like a Prince signature.
It's also a left handed models too.
That first guitar looks like if Princes custom guitar and a one of those early synth guitars/keytars had a baby
Listing 4 is literally from another channel which I won't name because when I name channels my comments get deleted
but there are a LOT of demos of that guitar and provenance to go with it
The mandolin was falling into the hillbilly jazz like tiny Moore and joe maphis

the point of a headless guitar is that it looks cool.... not that one, but others do
The 1st one is ultra weird, but, for guys who like weird instruments it's not too bad of a deal for a really really weird guitar. That double neck mandolin likely has pickups with 6 polepieces, but only 4 holes in the covers, given the width.
Reverb is riddled with inflated pricing. Some call it price gouging.
Listing 6 9:51 man.. finally!! this "Rare" warwick is for sale EVERYWHERE!! the japan stores do this... one store holds it and the rest list it on reverb for a slightly different price.. But, ALL of the Nobby basses and guitars for sale..
Nice shirt! The video was okay too.
First guitar looks like Squidwards “Bold and Brash” painting
Wait reverb is 10yrs old

A must for my collection .
Some guitars is for showin' and some's for playin!
The first one reminded me of the Strawberry alarm clock guitars by Mosrite

1st guitar=serious neck dive.
0:41 “headless”, it’s bigger than a CBS fender headstock, but there are no tuner keys so… headless?
Oh that last one eats alright.
My guitar matches the fireplace.
Headless guitar to help prevent knocking stuff off the desk while playing?
The new custom.... WHAT? But iff you are a kind off alien you can your savings left on earth today! 😱
Listing 1 looks like something Prince would've had. Listing 2 looks like someone hurled all over it and said "Let's go with this design."
cross reference the pot code to see if there's a bucket for a nickel somewhere lol
Ghost twins from the matrix would buy those white guitars. 😂
It begs the question, why make it headless if you're gonna put ALL THAT WOOD up where the head would be anyway? I also appreciate this very mandolin oriented episode.

Oh my lord- The abalone LP is totes 🤢🤮
The abalone would cost more than the asking price !!!!!
first one is a copy of an Auerswald
headless is so you can build a tiny guitar that doesn't have neck dive
I don't understand why you didn't give "Thee Gibson" 5/5 Beards.
There's a dog, SOLD!
Seriously how did you see that Sambora Strat?
1:45 the whole point of a headless is to not have all that weight on the end. This person just fundamentally failed on every level.
That IYV guitar is just TOOOOO busy and fugly especially with the weight
Call me whatever you i want i love abalone and id play the hell out of that guitar 3:10 ❤
4-Hole PAF is my stage name 6:15
The point of a headless guitar is pretty obvious but it’s mostly to piss off boomers who think musicman shits gold.
Should I feel bad because I love abalone?
You can never have too much abalone.
10 years ago! Is the person that listed this still alive????
I think that guitar could use some more abalone
I still hate abalone.
lol@ $1.5k for a guitar knob. One of the dumbest listings yet!
pot. knob goes on the pot. still ridiculous.
Well hello
No yeet.
Funny I was on Reverb looking at the left-handed silver skies USA made once $1000 more really are you trying to be fender
Just because you pick on semantics in this series.. $450 in 1950 was around $6k today. So is that a lot ?
Argue in the fine print, or lack thereof
Stone Temple Plagiarists? _Really?_
What happened to your body language, man..?
The point of a headless guitar is pretty obvious but it’s mostly to piss off boomers who think musicman shits gold.
Really, you had to post that twice??
@ guess I did.
