It seems like Leave the world behind is about the crisis in the micro while Civil War is the crisis in the macro. Very fascinating points over all. These films are the definition of art imitating life! It makes me want to rewatch them lol then watch this again!

Wow. This fourth turning concept sounds fascinating! I'm going to do more research on it!! I love this review incorporating history! Everything isn't always black and white and has a lot of nuance.. great review!

I mean Liz, these are far from feel good musicals but now I'm curious to see these movies cause I always be thinking about these what if-far out scenarios exactly because anything's possible

8:45 Adults sexually abusing children is real. This should be the thought process of all parents when it comes to their children (especially daughters) when it comes to people they don't know. Thinking this doesn't prove someone is racist.

So she was racist and hateful for everything else she did but not insinuating this? This was just genuine parental fear with no racism mixed in at all? Right….

Hmmm. The extreme right and left are factions devoid of individuality. We had more individualism and freedom in the 70s through the 90s. Only after the post-9/11 rise in surveillance and ultra-patriotism did this group think emerge. The centrists, which were generally the silent majority of the middle class, have disappeared or joined a team because they are losing economic power to the donor class & billionaires which are heavy in controlling public perception of their wealth & status.

Yeah I think you’re right about a few things. The thing is tho, I think, the left has moved further left and the right has moved further right, so it kind of forces you to choose. Are you left of center or right of center? I asked myself this and the values of the right just do not align with me at alllllll. So I guess I’m a lefty now.

@@LizNeptune I jokingly tell people “I’m in the radical middle”.
It’s radical because I feel like it’s the only true place where someone can be an individual now.
