Tha mi cinnteach gum bi "all this lenition stuff. all this spelling." will ward off whatever ails me. My 70-year-old brain absorbs something new every time I watch (or re-watch) one of your excellent videos. Tapadh leibh, a Dheusain, for helping me stay healthy. :)

O, most definitely! All those extra H's will keep your mind sharp. Learning Gaelic is good for one's health!
Enjoy the rest of your day, a charaid.

Just a heads up - I chuckled a little when I read the transcript at 1:26 - Side note - thanks for all the videos they help so much - great teaching style! Like the new fall videos. Would it be possible to recommend you make some out in town videos? Like random places for vocab building like a bakery or cafe or something? Just a thought cause im almost done with the beginner vids and would like to keep watching what you produce. Love the vids! Keep it up!

Thank you for this. My question is could you also use "sin" in the sentence? On Duolingo they use "sin" a lot when saying "that". For example they will have you say...Chan eil mì sin idir (I do not like that at all)...or Is toil leam sin gu mòr (I like that a lot). I guess my question is can you use both or is gum bi used for specific purposes, like when you want to say "that will be" versus "sin" just means (that). Thank you.

Is that the Cape Breton Gàidhlig accent for "a-màireach"? uh-may-roch? :)

That's a good question! It's a dialectical form for sure but I'm not 100% sure where it originates. I think I heard it in Islay, so perhaps it's Argyll?

A Jason (a Dheusain?) a Charaid. Carson a tha sinn a ’cleachdadh "a" roimh "’smaoineachadh, ’dol, ’gabhail, ’faighinn, ’cluich, ’draibheadh, ’bruidhinn", msaa. agus "ag" roimh "ràdh, iarraidh, ionnsachadh", msaa? Ann an Gaeilge, tha pàirtear làthaireach an-còmhnaidh air a chuir roimhe le “ag”. A bheil feum againn dìreach a bhith a ’ionnsachadh air mheomhair dè am fear a thèid le dè am fear?

Madainn mhath, a Mhartainn! Bidh 'Deusan' ceart gu leòr. 🙂
Aidh, sin diofar beag eadar Gaeilge agus Gàidhlig. Ann an Gàidhlig na h-Alba, bidh *ag* againn roimhe faclan a tha a' tòiseachadh le fuaimreag: *ag* ithe, *ag* òl, msaa. Ach, leis a h-uile facal eile, bidh *A'* againn. 'S e *ag* a th' ann an *A'* ach dìreach ann an dòigh nas giorra.
A bheil sin beagan nas soilleire?
