  • With all the avalanches in the Snoqualmie area, Jen and I decide to hike up a mountain we know won't put us at risk of being swept away.

great job recording this on such a steep climb. I really liked your commentary and the little song you put together about snot running down your nose. made me laugh

Great video! I have done this hike a few times, never in the snow. I agree it is way steeper than 2D video can properly convey. I am an old man and it takes me longer than it takes you youngsters.
One thing: I actually enjoy the long "boring" route as well. On a summer weekday, solo, it is a nice long workout, and you can take side trips to Dixie or Blowdown Mountains, or even hit Si via the back door.
But this particular hike is a steep one, and the 360 view from this summit is so rewarding.

Awesome video, thanks for sharing! My friend and I did the Teneriffe -> Kamikaze trail to the summit yesterday, but doing it in the snow looks spectacular. We took the Mt. Si -> Talus Loop route back. And stopped for an epic BBQ feast in the 'Quah afterwards because hangry. :)

You guys are on another TH-cam channel on this very hike! Awesome.... If you haven't seen it, it's on the osm adventure channel.... There is a glimpse of you guys at the summit!!! Love your vids! Very helpful!

+8282metalman Hahah WOW! So weird to see yourself in someone else's video. I talked very briefly with them when I made my way to the summit. Super nice guys. I was totally jealous of their crampons. Made my micro spikes feel a bit inadequate to say the least. ;)

They have a new parking lot!!! Park there, not at the school bus turnaround.

The trail after the falls is now closed and not a supported trail. You’ll need to double back and take the Teneriffe road trail. There is some erosion concerns.

John Slyfield Eh, it isn't signed that way. Did it this week actually.

was there any signs at all? The only trails on that side are the teneriffe trail (the long trail on the old logging roads, the trail to the falls, and two connectors to the lower mount si main trail and the upper connection to the mount si haystack. There is no trail, up to standards or not, listed on the new map. It's also specifically mentioned on the WTA website that the trail is to be kept out of. It's very important that we use only authorized trails.
This is unlike the Old Mount Si trail, which is posted as a primitive trail (which essentially means you can still use it, just may not be up to standards).

Past the turnoff to the falls, there are no signs. I did the long way down, and there are signs for the two connectors. No signs at the trailhead telling you not to use it either. Nor has the DNR made any physical effort to close the trail above the falls.
